Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: at Brown 2/27 - 9 years ago
This reffing is about as favorable as what Brown got in their last game.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: at Brown 2/27 - 9 years ago
Unlike some other teams, Meehan is actually not an unfavorable place for Cornell to be playing. Brown is on their usual late-season run, though; so I expect them to come out hard. Edit: Meep. Forgot to mention that those of us watching video will get the Brown crew today (and the student crew tomorrow). >_>by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC 2014-15 - 9 years ago
Harvard keeps sinking and sinking. It seems like they'll need to fight their way into the NCAA tournament at this pointby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC Playoff Possibilities Stuff - 9 years ago
QU ties Brown despite being down 2-0 in the 3rd and killing off a dubious major call at the end of regulation. Probably the softest boarding major I've ever seen called by any referee actually. They clinch 1st. St. Lawrence only needs one point next weekend to lock up 2nd place (pretty much assured at this point considering they go to the capital district). Edit: St. Lawrence has already clby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC Playoff Possibilities Stuff - 9 years ago
Things got very, very interesting with the North Country results. It seems only Quinnipiac and St. Lawrence are ensured with a BYE at this point.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Women's Hockey 2015 - 9 years ago
The women are looking to break a nasty 3-game losing streak tonight. Last two regular games for them as they finish up in the capital district.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 @ Harvard 3 (F/OT) - 9 years ago
I guess Harvard must've scouted Gilliam because they kept targeting his glove hand yesterday (it did work). I wonder if other teams will be doing the same.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Harvard on ESPN3 - 9 years ago
Neither goaltender has looked really good this game. Yeeshby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Harvard on ESPN3 - 9 years ago
That broadcast crew sounded really foolish discussing how Tiitinen should've gotten a major for his retalation.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Sucks game moved to 4PM - 9 years ago
It seems the stupid penalties haven't gone away after yesterday.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Dartmouth - 9 years ago
I think that was the loudest I've heard Dartmouth fans at any game in Hanover (other than when Princeton goes there). Amazing what a 5 (now 6) game-winning streak will do.by Iceberg - Hockey
Cornell at Dartmouth - 9 years ago
The game before the game. This is one of those matchups better viewed on mute considering the awfulness of whoever does the play-by-play for Dartmouth.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC 2014-15 - 9 years ago
That and BC is not exactly a powerhouse this year. I suspect Demko will keep Harvard from scoring too much but I don't think it will be enough.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC 2014-15 - 9 years ago
Congratulations to Brown for getting their 2nd conference win today. It seemed like it would happen Friday but they had blown it. No such thing on Saturday.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Quinny @ CU 02/06/15 - 9 years ago
Murky and inconsistent officiating standards would seem appropriate.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC 2014-15 - 9 years ago
Not too many surprises tonight. RPI back to inconsistentcy, Princeton being whacked by Yale, and Brown managing to lose despite facing a team that has struggled at Meehan. Union manages to inch out a close win against Harvard, who won't have McNally back for the rest of the season.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs Dartmouth 1/24/15 - 9 years ago
That's why it's so weird to me. If you're going to run a trap-type system, it's optimal to at least have a forward core that can skate quickly. Those guys tend to create more offensive opportunities by forcing giveaways and such, which create better opportunities. It's nice to have a Ryan-type defender to supplement that but the defenders as a whole can only do so much since they're supposed to..by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs Dartmouth 1/24/15 - 9 years ago
I fully expect the usual goonery out of Dartmouth. I also expect this game to be close as they typically are against these two. Dartmouth has kept up with some decent opponents this year, but they've mostly been up and down.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC 2014-15 - 9 years ago
A lot of overtime games tonight. St. Lawrence beat Yale by the same result of tonight's edition of Fish and Fowl, and Colgate and Dartmouth fought each other to a tie. More importantly though; When did Clarkson learn how to score goals?by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: State of eLynah Address - 9 years ago
Call me a blasphemer but I actually enjoyed the Dartmouth games more when I was a student. There always seemed to be an edge because of Gaudet and co. But that could also be because I was able to get tickets to those easierby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell at RPI - 9 years ago
Kasdorf was good, but the offense seems to have some issues setting themselves up for good offensive chances. Lots and lots of boardplay but nothing really resulting from it. The RPI guy also seemed to have a lot of trouble with pronouncing names (Bardeau).by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Women's Hockey 2015 - 9 years ago
I thought the men and women teams had different announcers for Brown. Or is this the astonishingly homer guy that does the men's games?by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC 2014-15 - 9 years ago
Clarkson involved a high scoring game tonight! However, they still lost to Harvard despite hitting the rare mark of 3 goals in a game. Dartmouth's struggles continues as they take another loss to St. Lawrence. And Yale continues their winning ways by beating a Brown team that they typically struggle against. And QU taking a close loss at Merrimack, who has hung around the lower part of theby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Women's Hockey 2015 - 9 years ago
It's good to see that the women have woken up. I guess Doug's potion has finally taken effect.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC 2014-15 - 9 years ago
That PC/Brown series had a bit of nastiness and controversy to it. Strange how Cornell hasn't had them as an OOC in a while, but you could say that about most other HE teams really.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: ECAC 2014-15 - 9 years ago
Not much of a contest at MSG. Yale has been owning most of the game.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: CU@Clarkson free video on the clarkson site - 9 years ago
The Clarkson guys said Stewart got an "emergency start". Any word on Gillam?by Iceberg - Hockey
