Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: This Weekend at P & Q - 7 years ago
I'll be at the game tonight. It should be a good crowd in Princeton.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Rankings - 7 years ago
If they sweep in the Capital District, they will almost certainly be #1 next week.by Iceberg - Hockey
Cornell 1 vs. Merrimack 0 1/7/17 - 7 years ago
The first game of 2017 and last out-of-conference game of the regular season. Merrimack has not looked very good recently but they are still playing at home.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Opponents News - 7 years ago
RichH marty Tigers puck luck continuing. Leading Duluth 2-1. On CBS sports as I post. By Tigers, you mean CC, not Princeton. Had to go check, based on the thread topics. Princeton actually lost last night pretty bad to Dartmouth, although their struggles in Hanover are much worse than Cornell's. It probably has something to do with the tennis balls. Things won't be easier for them toniby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Opponents News - 7 years ago
Union up 4-3 in the 3rd at BU, albeit a BU without seven of its best players thanks to the junior tournament. Edit: BU wins 5-4 in OT.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: 2017-18 Schedule - 7 years ago
Why are there league games at Lynah during the Winter Break?by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Florida College Classic - 7 years ago
There's the first "bad" loss. But there's a lot of hockey between now and March.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Florida College Classic - 7 years ago
There are still under 5 minutes left but it seems like CC will be tomorrow's opponent and Merrimack will have to wait until next month.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Florida College Classic - 7 years ago
And now it's evident why NMU has had such a rough season. And yet, they aren't even the lowest PWR team.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Opponents News - 7 years ago
Union really taking it to Vermont. 6-2 now with less than 10 minutes to go. That first line is the best in the country.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Opponents News - 7 years ago
Princeton 5-0 up on Mankato and the 2nd period isn't even over. The WCHA is kind of weak this year, but this is some scary stuff and I wonder if they'll be the same team after the break.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Opponents News - 7 years ago
The thing with Princeton is that they are a team that can skate well; and they still have two more games coming up this weekend against an OK Mankato team.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Opponents News - 7 years ago
Speaking of Yale, they're not doing anybody in the conference any favors tonight. 5 goals in 2 periods against BU.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Florida College Classic - 7 years ago
What a difference from the teams that were in the tournament last year. Of course, anything less than a win in this tournament would not be good from our point of view.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Opponents News - 7 years ago
Yale winning both of their next two games would also be nice, but I'm not so sure they're beating BU in that road game on Tuesday.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Opponents News - 7 years ago
Princeton winning is the best thing that can happen this weekend. New Hampshire winning tomorrow would also be good for pairwise.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Opponents News - 7 years ago
RPI's nightmare season continues as they're getting steamrolled in New Haven. At this rate we might see 10 goals by the end of the night.by Iceberg - Hockey
Miami vs. Cornell 12/2-3 - 7 years ago
Weekend series against a NCHC team that has struggled this season, which makes this an important game for ranking purposes. Miami hasn't played since the weekend before Thanksgiving. Tonight's game is on ESPN3.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Colgate 11/29 - 7 years ago
I don't think I've heard an announcer as critical as this guy doing the game right now. One would think this edition of Colgate is good for nothing.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Colgate 11/29 - 7 years ago
This is the start of a pretty significant stretch in terms of pairwise position. Cornell really can't afford to lose this game considering how poorly Colgate has played this season. On Saturday they lost a close one in Providence, so there's no rest difference between these teams (unlike with Miami on the weekend).by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Lynah Rink Review - 7 years ago
I actually found the review quite accurate in many respects. It almost felt like I was back at the old rink, even though it has been 2 years.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Opponents News - 7 years ago
Clarkson won and Princeton is leading Bemidji going into the third. This could be a very favorable weekend as far as Cornell is concerned.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Opponents News - 7 years ago
Princeton finally decided to play 60 minutes, and look what happened. Their beating high-ranked opponents is actually a good thing down the stretch in terms of strength-of-schedule.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Opponents News - 7 years ago
Kyle Hayton is a very good goaltender. It's really something that SLU hasn't been able to make it to the NCAA's within the last two years.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Quinnipiac on ESPN3 - 7 years ago
As far as I know there's no break going on right now...The students should be there until Wednesday when the Thanksgiving recess starts. Some people always leave earlier but I would expect there to be a decent showing of students anyway. Home games before this break are nothing new.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: This Weekend, Mind Your Qs & Ps - 7 years ago
I think this is the most icings Cornell has taken in any game so far this year, although that's probably the least of the issues in this game.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Quinnipiac on ESPN3 - 7 years ago
Is anyone else having issues with the WHCU feed? I'm getting nothing but a political discussion and have to use the local QU feed from Hamden instead.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Backhands - 7 years ago
I don't see backhands taken much at the college level, even in situations where they would be advantageous. I find it strange too because backhanders are harder for a goaltender to pick up, and even if not accurate they can create a rebound.by Iceberg - Hockey
Martha Pollack named new president - 7 years ago
University of Michigan Provost Martha Pollack Tapped to Lead Cornell I was just thinking about how long it would take to choose a new president just yesterday...and lo and behold here we are.by Iceberg - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Cornell vs Yale 11/12 - 7 years ago
marty Iceberg And just like that Cornell joins QU to be the only other team with a 4-point weekend. Very good. Clarkson? I knew I forgot somebody. They actually seem to have some offense (3 goals in every game so far) this year. In fact, they're hosting the Yale/Brown pairing next weekend so that average will probably stay intact.by Iceberg - Hockey
