Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Prospect Updates - 20 years ago
The recruiting site puts Topher at 5'6. I hope Topher is the real Deal. I wouldn't mind another 4 years of Vesce II. Did anyone else notice the massive amount of large brown recruits already? Six players over six feet tall! Wow!by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Prospect Updates - 20 years ago
Interesting that all four current recruits are forwards. We lose 2 forwards, one defenseman, and one goalie to graduation next year. Its early in the recruiting cycle, but I still find that strange.by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: It's been a while since ... - 20 years ago
Not that my tenure (starting from '95 - my freshman year) as a fan is all that much, but damn you people are spoiled!by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: video feed? - 20 years ago
I e-mailed the (incompetent) chief architect.. and told him something along the lines of: Your web page works with Mozilla just fine, please remove the incredibly annoying pop-up. Of course, even despite this, its a pretty shoddy looking web page. I think its a bit ironic considering one of the excuses Cornell used to not used their alumni resources was that they wanted something 'more professioby kaelistus - Hockey

Don't make me come out there, Jeff and BRA!by kaelistus - Hockey
White will kick Red's Ass!!! - 20 years ago
That's right. You heard it here first. Not only that, but they will match Cornell's perfect 1970 season in win percentage by going 1-0-0 all the way!by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Cornell Club of Boston and Cornell at Harvard Tickets - 20 years ago
Do CCOB members get priority on the tickets or is it first come first serve? Last year I remember a distict lack of tickets for me. (Well, until I called harvard and got standing room ones).by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: USA Today Poll - 20 years ago
If the USCHO has us 9th at the end of the season, that probably means our recruits are as good as they are touted. I'm down with that. Harvard must drop tho'.by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Early Report On 2003-2004 Cornell Hockey Team - 20 years ago
Hornby sold me in that painful 2001 loss to Harvard championship game. The the team lost their legs and didn't look like they could even walk... except for Hornby who was throwing Harvard players around left and right. The man almost single handledly took on the entire Crimson squad and managed to hold them for almost two overtime periods.by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Ticket Line Procedures - 20 years ago
I've said this like 15 billion times before but... I think expanding lynah would mean making the seats go all the way around and NOT raising the roof. There's a small parking lot there which is easily removeable... I don't feel the atmosphere would suffer at all, and overall you wouldn't really get so many more seats that Lynah would feel empty in down years.by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: An email I received - 20 years ago
So what's stopping me from letting the authorities know about this? I bet I could get those season tickets revoked by chatting with athletics.by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Leneveu signs with Phoenix? - 20 years ago
I think Schafer has always liked to have 3 goalies... So we'll see. Anyway. Marr looked pretty damn solid during his December tournament, and Chabot was pretty highly touted so I think we will be okay. Good luck to Dave, this is an awesome opportunity! (I wish someone gave me 3 million dollars too )by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Joe in Detroit? - 20 years ago
Interesting.. I kind of like Detroit only because I can shout "Lets Go RED" when I watch them.by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Uncle Ezra on paying to listen - 21 years ago
This is what they should have said in the first place I think. Now if you give us video next year, I'll be a happy camper.by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Hosting, Small Ice, and Face Shields - 21 years ago
I'm laughing my ass off imagining Tyler Kolarik with a sandwich in the middle of the ice and Murray bashing him to the wall, getting the sandwich and eating it. Of course, the sandwich must be fish related in this incident, so I'm going to go for Tuna.by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: A New Lynah - 21 years ago
They could easily renovate lynah just a little bit by eliminating the parking lot and making the seats go all the way around. That would also probably give them more space for the locker room stuff which I know Schafer used to complain about.by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Michigan Daily's feature on C. Gartman - 21 years ago
Yeah.. I was wondering that too.. As a faithful, I just can't get myself to cheer against a former Big Red. Even if there was a rift. Felixby kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Providence Journal Article - 21 years ago
What an incredibly awful article... I could write a scathing article about Providence too. I hope they keep Wisconsin, and send the Regional somewhere else. And don't trash on Albany - Its not their fault they aren't Placid. And I thought they did a great job making us feel welcome. Then, the asked for feedback about the event in USCHO afterwards. What else can you ask for? And on another notby kaelistus - Hockey
Re: WTF??? - 21 years ago
Wait.. You mean there's 8 Sieve cheers exactly? I've been watching Cornell for over 7 years, and I never knew that! I guess it made sense to stop around there, but it never occured to me that we were all always stopping at the same time every goal.by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Game videos available - 21 years ago
I don't have the equipment to dupe it over here.. but when someone does, I'd love to get a copy of that!by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Harvard-Dartmouth game - 21 years ago
Final Score 5-3 Harvard. Looks like we get a rematch of last year's championship. Hopefully, the result will be different this time.by kaelistus - Hockey
Ryan O'Byrne - 21 years ago
There's some talk today in the USCHO message board that O'Byrne has committed to Cornell. It is too early too tell, but this freshman class sure looks like it has potential. Also, according to the Recruits page, we have our first 2004 committal. Matt McKeown-LW (2/8/03). Anyone know anything about this kid?by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Post-Harvard musing II - 21 years ago
Writing alternate lyrics for an Alma Matter is fine as long as you don't sing it over them during the hockey game I think.... I don't know I guess I just think that that's one part where you stop the insults. When I was a freshman I turned to face the other way as Yale was singing their Alma Matter and I was quickly rebuked by my fellow faithful. Plus, raising your middle finger in unison is juby kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Post-Harvard musing II - 21 years ago
Wow... profanity in an Alma Matter... So much for my earlier comment on Harvard having classy fans.by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Post-Harvard musing I: Giving $ to Cornell Hockey - 21 years ago
Jesh... are we going through this again? Those of us who decided to withhold our donations aren't going to change our minds now. Personally, I prefer a mediocre team that I can watch than a NCAA contender that I can only keep track of by checking box scores.by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Ivy Title & Cleary Cup - 21 years ago
If Harvard sweeps, they take away the point Darmouth needs to take away our Ivy Title. So we don't get the Cleary Cup but we do get a share of the Ivy - guaranteed.by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Ivy Title & Cleary Cup - 21 years ago
Wow... so if I'm reading you guys right, IF (A BIG IF HERE) we sweep this weekend, we are guaranteed at least one of the following: Ivy Title, Cleary Cup.by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: Why you (as a fan) should behave at a hockey game - 21 years ago
I'm going to agree with Harvard being a nice place to watch hockey. Last year I was screaming my ass off in the middle of the harvard section and really got no heckling at all. At the end of the game, we had a conversation with the folks around us, and wished each other luck in the future (AKA the upcoming beanpot tournament). As it should be.by kaelistus - Hockey
Re: 2007 update - 21 years ago
I believe McCutcheon is the son of that other McCutcheonby kaelistus - Hockey
Re: 2007 update - 21 years ago
What I worry about is that we only have one D recruit to replace 3 very powerful Ds (Murray, Mcrae, Bell). With the top 5 of 6 scorers graduating, we're going to need some good D to survive the impact. Felixby kaelistus - Hockey
