Crazy first quarter
6-2 Cornell, 4 goals by Mitchell
scores were:
1-0 Cornell
2-1 Dartmouth
then 5 unanswered to make it 6-2
way to settle it down

Cornell gives up a goal with 3 seconds left in the quarter, 6-3 at the end of the first

9-5 Red at the half.
Not the defensive game the Red want to have right now, but they've certainly made up for it so far.

Miller saw some playing time late in the 4th which was nice. He made a couple of saves and I don't think he gave up any goals. Cornell's offense looked awesome, but I think it was because Dartmouth's defense just wasn't athletic enough to keep up with us. A lot more goals came from the attack today, and Boulokos got double-teamed every time he touched the ball. Overall pretty good offense, but not a good day on defense.

Btw, anyone else notice that Penn lost to Princeton (16-7) on Tuesday night. I sure hadn't.
So we're in control of our destiny. Princeton/Harvard are playing right now (1-1 accoring to Gametracker). But it doesn't matter much either way, we'd still need to beat Princeton (and Brown).
Although if Harvard wins today, we have a few more outs if we don't beat Pton, but Pton and Harv would each have to lose one more game to get us to a coin flip (yes, literally).
If Princeton wins today, and we don't beat Princeton, I think Princeton would seal it (they could end up tying us and/or Harvard, but would have beaten both).
Either way, next Saturday in NJ is huge. Both for Ivy and for at large considerations.

Yup. 8(a),5(a),12(m) on their team were very solid, but outside of them I didn't notice another credible ofensive threat. Their ball movement wasn't nearly as good as ours, yet we seemed a step slow on slides. It could have just been the fatigue from playing 3 games in 7 days, but if our D showed up like that against SU they would have pummeled us. Also...has anyone noticed this year that we consistently have more man down situations than our opponents? It didn't affect us today but it could cause us some trouble down the road in the postseason.Jacob '06

I agree. The first thing I noticed in the game was how much bigger and faster we were. Boulukos showed why he is again a Tewaaraton nominee. He controled the game every time he stepped on the field. I don't know if those of you watching the webcast caught the play where Joe won the face-off lost one shoe but ran across the restraining line, faked a shot and then lost the other shoe right before he passed it to Pittard who dumped it into the cage. Too bad if you missed it...it was an awesome play. As good as our offense is, when Espey and Romero step on the field it just isn't the same (understandably). I'd like to see the coach experiment spliting Boulukos and Seibald.
[Q]Overall pretty good offense, but not a good day on defense.
HUGE game against Princeton next week...wish I could be there.

Cornell, 18-9. Couldn't the team have loaned, say, 2 or 3 of the goals to the Syracuse game when we really needed it?
And how come some of the Ivy's mid tier teams can't put one or two extra shots past Princeton and Penn? If we're in the tournament, good, but then we also would like to avoid any seeding that meets up with #1 Virginia before the final.
Maybe the loss to Wisconsin in hockey was a moral victory, it being Bucky's toughest game of the tourney, but if it's got to be a moral victory, I'm all for having it in the final game.
