It was posted on Wrestling Report that Cornell will open against #3 Oklahoma. Troy Nickerson, ranked #5 at 125 pounds, will get a shot at Sam Hazewinkel, ranked #3. Manotti was hurt last Sunday and likely will not wrestle, but Mazzurco is supposed to be back at full strength.

Five matches won by each team in the opening dual, with the difference coming on a pin by Oklahoma's #1 141-pounder Teyon Ware and a major decision at 157 (Manotti did not wrestle.). Key match was #2 Sam Hazewinkel handing #5 Troy Nickerson his first defeat, 2-0. Mormile, Anceravage, Miracola, Mazzurco (over #13 Justin Dyer), and Rinaldi (over #3 Joel Flaggert) took decisions for Cornell.

Cornell beat Northern Iowa in the consolation bracket with wins by Nickerson, Mormile, Reish (149), Miracola, Mazzurco, and Rinaldi (major).

Yikes! Cornell gets Michigan--which lost to Nebraska in the round of eight--in the next round of the consolation bracket. worry

Oh man, the key has to be the Manotti injury.

As an aside, I'm not sure I like this voluntary exile to JSiD for wrestling. I'd rather keep this as OT on the main forum...
