League moving away from traditional Fri/Sat back to back league schedule starting next year. Moving to a ten week season with three back to backs.

There will be another 2 game weekend with a game on Saturday and another on MLK Day. The last two weekends will feature a single game.

The goal seems to be to kill interest in the regular season.

Given that the toughest travel weekend was Cornell/Columbia, does that suggest that Cornell would be on the road for all of the 2 game weekends and home for the others?

Are there not advantages to B2B scheduling? Already, you're home every other weekend. And Friday-Saturday games means you're gone from late Thursday, most cases, and back early Sunday -- so time off campus is two days plus two partial days. In four cases (Princeton, Penn, Yale, Columbia) you're back in Ithaca by 2 am, which is not that late for a college student.

Are there any Ivy games where the visiting team departs midday of the Friday game day? Yale - Brown, and Brown - Harvard? Even Harvard - Dartmouth is just over two hours.

The longest trips are 300-360 miles
Dartmouth - Penn 360
Dartmouth - Princeton 320
Harvard - Cornell 330
Harvard - Penn 305
Dartmouth - Cornell 295

Or is the greater concern the wear and tire of, on back to back nights, jumping up in the air every 30 seconds?

Be nice if an alum donated a half-dozen 20- or 30-person buses with business class seating to make the trip more comfortable for all the sports teams. Which Cornell then leases back to the charter company.

I think the NC$$ would be all over that.

I don't understand it, but I'll take it. The team hands Princeton it's first league loss 73-62

A little more drama than ideal, but the guys get a big win over league leading Princeton 73-62. They never trailed.

The defense had the Tigers rattled the and the offense got big games from the tri-Captains Warren (18p, 10r), Boeheim (24p, 9r) and McBride (14p, 5a).

Probably their best game of the season.

Can't get the sweep though: Penn 79-73.

Not a bad game, but the Quakers got to the rim way too easily (27 shots at the rim and they made 19). Needed Josh Warren to hit his first 5 three point bombs just to keep it close.

Now projected to finish tied with Dartmouth for 6th, one game ahead of Columbia. And 4 games out of the ILT, just in case you were curious.

Rolled by Harvard 85-63. I didn't see it but it was a blowout from the tip.

Missed it too, but can say it was something like 42-15 at the half. Completely non-competitive.

EDIT: Checked the box and Harvard scored the first 12 points and lead by double digits the rest of the way.

So, Boeheim sprains his ankle 5 minutes in, and things have gone about as you would expect.

Fun fact: Dartmouth's 44-25 halftime lead is the largest they've had in an Ivy game this millennium.

Final: Dartmouth 75 Cornell 53. This team is pretty dreadful without Jimmy. I mean, they aren't good with him.

Good god, many, do you actually research this? If so, you've been inhaling the vapors of too many Gwynneth Candles. Please, let it be some stat the announcers were handed.

It was dropped in during the second half of the broadcast; I think the color guy was the coach back in '97 when it happened.

Hosting the Ivy's best team, Yale, with Jimmy Boeheim out for the weekend. Should be ugly.

At the Half: Cornell leads 37-32.

Sports are weird.

Going to OT at 60. Which is bittersweet because the BR had a 60-52 lead with 3 minutes to go.

Going to double OT at 69. Paul Atkinson misses two at the line with 4 seconds left that could have won it for Yale.

Yale wins 81-80. McBride hits a backdoor lay-up from Dickson to give Cornell the lead, but gave Yale too much time.

McBride with a monster game: 27p, 5r, 5a. The youngsters Dickson, Dolan and Filien played a bunch of solid minutes, which was nice to see.

Still no Boeheim, but it doesn't matter as Cornell is blowing out Brown by 20. Really didn't see this coming, but hats off to Coach Earl and the team for the massive turnaround from last weekend.

EDIT: 63-45 final.

I've been down on Knapp, but he had a very good weekend. 17 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists tonight. McBride also had 17 on terrific shooting.

Also, more good nights for some youngsters. Dickson had 10 points, 9 rebounds and pair of blocks. The freshman Filien yanked down 9 rebounds. Dolan had 7 points and a pair of steals.

It really didn't look like the same team from last weekend.

Jeckle Hyde team-pretty decent at home and at times dreadful on the road. The young players show some promise. Size up front is still an issue.

Athletes at Ivy League schools can’t redshirt. They have eight semesters on campus and eight semesters to be eligible. With that in mind, 10 of Jones’s players at Yale opted out this fall — not just of the season, but of school — with hopes of returning when things return to normal. They’re working at internships and trying to better themselves.

Yale's team will be favored to win the Ivy League with the number of players they will return when play resumes.

Men's basketball NOT playing seems to be generating more posts than last year when the Red played, and in the fall we read of one-point squeakers vs. fellow non-powerhouses such as Binghamton.
