3 goals in the last minute and a half to beat Lehigh 13-12. Colton Rupp scores with 0.1 left for the win after two amazing in-traffic goals by Clarke Petterson with 1:19 and 0:18 tied it. Tenacious defense by Lehigh caused way too many Cornell turnovers. Cornell 25 x 27 on faceoffs but lost several to Lehigh checks.

Cornell jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first 4 minutes then Lehigh went on a run late first and second. 4 goals for Ryan Matthews today after that OT winner vs. Syracuse, and 3 for John Edmonds who also I believe was the player who was doubled, fell down and still managed to get a pass off to Rupp for the winning goal.
Cornell 4 2 3 4 - 13
Lehigh 1 6 4 1 - 12

This makes Cornell 6-5 and unlikely to finish now with a losing season.

Brown beat #1 Yale 14-12 today.

Penn beats Harvard 14-13 on a goal with :15 left. Harvard now 2-2 in the Ivies with games left vs. Princeton and at Yale vs. our 2-3 with games vs Brown in Ithaca and at Princeton.

Wasn't it Rupp who scored the winner?

Great game. Great win.
Freshmen vs Seniors.

God bless that fat lady!!

Well, that was an interesting game. They played like a young team, and considering our first offense is mainly freshmen, I suppose that's fitting.

We were sloppy in midfield and weak on defense. We were unable to deal with their 10-man ride and it showed in the number of turnovers. Someone at the game said in the first half we turned the ball over 10 times to Lehigh's once. And the second half wasn't much better.

Our offense was extremely static. Frankly it was like watching the hockey team: plenty of possession but afraid to take the shot and unable to finish.

IMO, Lehigh didn't deserve to lose.

Yes, Lehigh got kinda robbed.
But, like Sallahudin used to say, "A win is a win!"

Just like every other game this season, way too many UFE.
But, at least we won almost all of the FO's.
I would think that 'Cuse should feel exponentially more screwed.

And, the offense is still so bread and butter.
Boy, do I miss Pannell to Mock.
Or, the question mark?

But, a win is a win! Right??

cheer

Fun to watch on TV with multiple cameras, slo-mo, etc. And time to fill at the end before the next game, so we got lots of replays of the spectacular goals at the end.

Cornell will make the ILT if the Red beats Brown and Princeton, and Sucks loses its final two to Princeton and Yale. Caveat: if Cornell beats Princeton but not Brown (and Sucks loses 2), there is still a long-shot way in based on goal differentials. I’ve posted complete details at laxpower on the Ivy League thread.
