Looking like Saturday may be a great day for lacrosse in upstate NY?
But, maybe we can still rain/snow on Yale's parade??

"LGR!!" cheer

For those of us out of the area, the game will be on ESPN3.

Yale 4-2 after 1st period. Clears (1x4) and faceoff slip-ups are hurting Cornell; Red allowed a 4-goal run by Yale.

Second period 6-5 Cornell with 3 mins to go. Rupp gets 3rd goal of game and then misses on a break with no one near him on D. Cornell is better on clears this quarter, FOs better by expedient of Masimillian taking one FO and rather than trying to pass off just charging the goal and shooting wide to give Cornell possession behind. Yale ties at 6, Cornell controls then throws the ball away at midfield with :18 to play, Yale gets possession behind net with 0.4 seconds left and lets fly a scoring shot at time runs out (see the replay) which the referees count. Yale 7-6 at halftime. Cornell is doing well with Yale ranked No. 4 and Cornell an also-getting-votes ranking.

Third period ends 10-7. Yale defense is solid. Yale picking up more GBs off the faceoff. Cornell clears still problematic. Q4 will be an uphill run for the Red.

Final Yale 15-9. Cornell was outplayed at both ends. Cornell kept it close into the third quarter. Didn't get blown out. Let's hope the young Cornell team improves each game.

(Cornell fared better against Yale than the Bulldogs against Duke. Half ends with Duke just about doubling Yale: 48-25.)

This was the first time Yale beat Cornell in a regular season game in 14 years.

Yes, we were bested in every category except faceoffs won. And, there the margin was small.
But, they're young. And, if the Rupp kid's performance is any indicator, they will win again.
To lessons learned?

So, "LGR"!! cheer

when CU was up 1 and missed from 5 ft away and then allowed yale to score from behind their own goal with less than 10 secs left the game turned.. still wonder how they completed a pass and a shot in under .5 a second though..

Exactly right. If Rupp had buried his point-blank chance to give Cornell four straight and a two-goal lead, who knows? Outcome could easily have been the same but might have been more interesting getting to it.
