Haven't had a chance to look at how many alums might be competing in London this year, but I did come across this recent article on Morgan Uceny.

EDIT: The U.S. track and field trials are June 21-July 1 in Eugene, Ore.

I think Jeomi Maduka has a shot to get there, second article talks about how she just missed the 2008 Olympics

Retweeted by @CornellSports, so I assume that means he's one of ours:

Edit: I guess they were just RTing the mention in SI, since this was on eLF already.

He finished in 6th out of 12 in the final. Not good enough for the Olympics but damn impressive.

Jurkowski makes quarter finals in single sculls.

Jurkowski finished fifth of six in his quarterfinal and is out of the medal hunt. He gets to keep rowing for placement in the final standings and will row in semifinal D on August 1.

If anyone might be wondering, as I was, when Morgan Uceny will running, her preliminary race will be next Monday, and if she progresses, the semifinal will be next Wednesday and the final next Friday.

For some historical context:
All-time record: 3:50.46
Olympic record: 3:53.96
Gold medal time in 2008: 4:00.03
Silver medal time in 2008: 4:01.63
Bronze medal time in 2008: 4:01.78
Uceny's time in qualifying for these Olympics: 4:04.59
Uceny's best time so far this year (5/31): 4:01.59
Uceny's personal best time (last September): 4:00.06

Uceny falls with about a lap and a half to go. Not sure if she completed her run.

Thanks. Too bad. No telling what would have happened, but the pace was very slow so it appeared to be anybody's race.

Wow that is a real shame, especially with the slow pace and since that was the second time that happened to her.

Clearly accidental, though, which this sort of thing often isn't.
