Maybe the ^ means preseason games? 2/7 seems awfully early to start the season and 15 seems like more games than normal.

In any case, whether it's @SU, @UVA, @Duke and @JHU or "only" the first three, that's a tough non-conference schedule, and only 5 of 13 (if my guess is right, or 6 of 15 if not) games at home.

Considering we scrimmaged at Loyola and home with JHU last Feb., I think your assumption is correct.

But remember: What matters most for tournament selection and seeding is whom you play, not whether you win or lose...as long as you're .500 or better.bugeye Unfortunately, with Binghamton, Canisius, and Hobart on the non-Ivy schedule, there'll still be a bunch of low-RPI teams among Cornell's top ten opponents counted in determining strength of schedule. But Tambroni's got the schedule moving in the right direction quality-wise.

I, too, think the ^ indicates scrimmages. We've scrimmaged Hopkins regularly in recent years. Opening with five of first six on the road will be a challenge...and only five of thirteen are at home.

All the tough non-conference games are on the road... jeeezzz. Tell me they're gonna give us a return game in Ithaca sometime soon.

Especially freaking Duke. We keep having to schlep down to North Carolina to play either them or UNC every freaking year with no reciprocation. I know what the "A" in ACC stands for. At least UVA has committed to come to Ithaca next year (I think that's what I remember).

Is the Duke game during spring break? I think the team goes south for a week to practice in warm[er] weather and has played Duke (twice; winning both) and UNC (losing last year) while in Carolina.

I am already picturing the cornell bashing in may if say cornell gets a seed despite losing 2 or all of those big road games. "Boy who did they beat?" Maybe that's the sort of thing it will take to wake up those who stubbornly support a selection process that weighs SoS at something like 70%.

Spring break is March 14-22, so it's Duke in the middle of the week and Yale on the way home Saturday.

True, but we have Princeton, Harvard, and Penn at home, only difficult league game on the road is Brown. Virginia and Duke are warm-weather games. At Army in Feb or early March is always tough.
