You mean...we got fewer votes...than Stephen F. Austin? That's like losing a primary to Rudy Giuliani.metaezra

Just goes to show that you have to throw out outliers.

Does he have an archive of past votes? I wonder if his #25 is always a school that wouldn't get recognized otherwise.Weder
It was John Feinstein

I've been meaning to read that. I've also had a question about the title "The Last Amateurs" for a while. It's about the Patriot League, and as I understand it, glorifies it as the final academically-minded, non-scholarships, home-of-the-true-student-athlete frontier in Division I basketball.
Hey!! Over here!!
Unless Feinstein makes the case that the Patriot League is less of a well known entity than the "big name" schools of the Ivy League. And I guess "Some of the Few Amateurs" isn't a great book title. But I hope he doesn't ignore us completely.

Feinstein talks about small, academic schools a lot on Tony Kornheiser's radio program. He's a very smart, very irritating guy, much like TK.

In Kornheiser's defense, he made the big time as a Binghamton grad and had the good sense to send his daughter to Cornell! Plus, he often has a Cornell football helmet on his desk during PTI. Where else can you find that kind of free advertising? As for John Feinstein, I agree that he can be irritating in interviews, but he sure can write.

If they're both very irritating, why do you listen to them?Trotsky
