I'm not liking the reffing very much right now. I suspect that all of those calls are nonsense. I have no basis for this belief.

Yeah, but any color guy who says "most knowledgable people would say Cornell is the best team in the country" is OK by me.

No you dont :)

The first penalty was one they had to take. The Towson guy had a clear path to the net and four cornell defenders collapsed in on him and just brought him town. One that's worth the odds. The others weren't unreasonable. The problem is that our Man-Down D is 0 for 3.

They are interviewing Richie Moran and there is a LOVELY view of the rolling hills of central NY. Oh, how I miss Ithaca. :`-(

Better turn it up here. If we win by less than 10, the committee revokes our seed.

After Mitchell's fifth goal to make it 11-3: "What's with the Cornell band - they're using the Hopkins chant," asks the Towson color guy (the one with the two-packs-a-day voice, referring to the "we want more cheer."

Towson radio also wonders why the Canadian flag ... figure it must be proximity to Canada.

For Towson that was the most goals they've allowed this season (last allowed 14 vs. UVa last March and the March before that, they last gave up 15 in '04), tied for the fewest they've scored, and their worst loss since 14-3 to UVa two years ago. Not bad statistics. :-)

I must have missed it, what happened to Seibald?

As for the win, this was Towson's biggest whipping of the year. They lost by 1 to Maryland, by 4 to Virginia, by 1 and 3 to Delaware, and 2 to Hopkins. Then they meet the Big Red... and lose by 8. This game sent a message. Lets keep it up.

Attend. figures announced at 3,300. Why so low?

Tambroni said he "rolled his ankle" sometime in the third period. The trainers were shown taping it. They held him out for the rest of the game because the score was 10-3 at the time.

Towson was transitioning and Seibald was riding the ball carrier and he fell right near the faceoff circle. One of two things happened: either he just rolled it while he was running or he thought he was going to be offside so he put on the brakes and rolled it then. I think it was the latter, but I was too focused on the fact that he fell to notice how many guys we had in our half of the field.

ESPNU is scheduled to show the game again tonight at midnight (for those who, like me, were brain-dead and forgot to tape it) but with all the weather delays, who knows what will happen to the schedule.

The attendance at Duke was 1,534 for their NCAA game today. (vs. 2,332 for the Cornell game and 6,588 for the UVa game) Maybe the NCAA ticket restrictions for tournament games are too...restrictive?

He was down for a while, limped off the field, and was back playing a minute or so later. He looked fine.

Their poll asks if Duke will win the national title. So far it's 50/50 with 4721 votes.

From the "for what it's worth department," the eight-goal margin matched our season's average margin of victory. By the way, our RPI today would probably be better than Duke's because we beat another top 15 team (yay, strength of schedule) and Providence was ranked 45th before the tournament.

I wouldn't go that far, but it seemed like there were at least 4,000 there. Relatively few students, but the usual generous townie and parent contingents.

I was surprised to see the Towson mascot there. Guy must have been lonely without fans to support him.

A solid game except for some issues with sloppy passing.

You'd think from that article that Cornell didn't even play last weekend. Is lacrosse played outside of Maryland? :-|
