Nice blog.

Since it looks like Cornell has a shot at winning the Ivies and making the NCAAs, I am officially jumping on the bandwagon early.:)

Thanks for the kind words on the blog. I am hoping Cornell hockey/wrestling fans will open a bit of room in their RED hearts for the basketball team this winter.

ESPN has us as the early favorites.

A lot will depend on our health. We have two keys guys--Adam Gore and Jason Hartford coming off major injuries. If we get them back-- Cornell should be in great shape for a run at the dance and MAJOR media coverage. 20 years since a non-P won the Ivy. Last team... Cornell '88.

Great blog.

I agree that we should be the ivy favorites at this point... although a lot hinges on staying healthy in my mind, I am worried about our depth.

If we are healthy-- we will be the deepest team in the League. But that is a very big "IF" in that sentence.

While doing some errands this morning/afternoon, I was listening to ESPN radio and their college basketball guru Andy Katz also thinks Cornell will be the IVY league favorite next year.

Joe Lunardi of ESPN also has the Big Red slotted #1 in Bracketology. If a non-P school wins the Ivy League basketball championship this year--- I think you folks are going to experience a whole new level of media exposure and attention for Ivy basketball. It is gonna be an interesting ride. Hold on.

Why, exactly? I find it hard to believe that most people would care.

SI (the magazine) did a huge article on Yale in 2001 when the magazine THOUGHT Yale would win the championship and go to the NCAAs. ESPN and other outlets also widely reported the story. Instead, the Yalies choked and lost in the 3 game playoff to Penn.

Id imagine similar national coverage for Cornell. It is a great story. No other conference in America is dominated like the Ivy by just 2 schools.

Harvard and, to a lesser extent Yale, are symbols of upper-crust smarts. Cornell, as much as we all love it, doesn't strike that same chord. I wouldn't expect as much attention for Cornell as Yale got for their near-miss.

As I remember it, Yale didn't choke in 2001; Penn was the better team.
