Give me a break, please. These guys had a disgusting party with under-aged kids drinking, complete with strippers. This is America's team? A feel good story? Was O.J. the feel good story of the year when the jury found him innocent?

The Duke kids did not commit a rape, but I am getting tired of the media celebrating them.

America's team are the kids wearing the Red from Cornell, playing without scholarships, and actually having to overcome an academic index for admission.

The Duke media darlings story has to at least be in part due to the enormous guilt bearing down on all those in the media who wanted to crucify them a year ago for a rape that never happened.

Oh no, under-aged drinking? Surely nobody at CORNELL has ever done that.

Seriously. It isn't quite as bad as falsely accusing the players of rape, but the Puritans acting shocked! shocked! at booze and strippers at a college party and trying to turn that into a separate smear against the players are pretty goddamn annoying.

I'm not saying the Dukies deserve medals, but if there haven't been more than a handful of similar parties thrown at Cornell this year, I'd be sincerely shocked.

Exactly. After what the team and the three players were put through but both Nifong and the the media (not to mention the Duke community) they deserve a little bit of positive coverage.

They also deserve to lose in the semis, but that's beside the point.

I have no problem with the kids drinking or hiring strippers. However they were rude to the strippers and that's just wrong.

All true, but I'm taking bets that there won't be strippers at any booze party attended by the lacrosse team in the foreseeable future.
