Cornell men's basketball: 7-foot transfer center headed to CU
By BRIAN DELANEY
Journal Staff

ITHACA - Cornell assistant men's basketball coach Zach Spiker acknowledged late Thursday that 7-foot center Jeff Foote, a former walk-on at St. Bonaventure's and star at Spencer-Van Etten High School, will transfer to Cornell and play for the Big Red next season.

The signing fills a potential major need for the Big Red, which will graduate current center Andrew Naeve, a 6-9 senior, this spring.

Spectacular. Even though, as far as I can tell, he never stepped on the court with the Bonnies.

Gant’s injury has had a profound effect on his teammates. Foote’s mother was the head nurse on Gant’s case when he was airlifted from Newman Arena to Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, N.Y. When her son became unhappy at St. Bonaventure, she remembered the way that Gant’s teammates and coaches had come together to support him.

That is crazy. Given the circumstances I suppose I'd rather that Foote never transferred to Cornell. I suggest we look at it like a silver lining.
