We got a good seed and end up playing Hofstra at Penn State in State College. Long Island plays Penn State. We lost to LIU in the first round last year, and in an early season tournament this year. Despite this their RPI was lower, so they are the sacrificial lambs to PSU. I believe this makes us a 3 seed to Hofstra's 2 seed.
The dates are December 1st and 2nd (if we advance) I believe. So hopefully there will be a big Cornell contingent in State College next weekend. It should be pretty exciting. From comparing schedules, even though Hofstra's RPI is way higher than Cornell's, it should be a good match up. I think we have a serious chance to advance to the second round. Long Island is a strong, although seemingly inconsistent team. Hopefully they will give PSU a run for their money. They have some serious talent, but their results this season are not too hot.
From comparing the schedules of Hofstra and Cornell, there's not too much that can be gathered. The only shared opponent is St. John's. Cornell took a game from St. Johns, and Hofstra got swept. Can't wait to see these teams in action.

First game to Hofstra, 30-22--after a 9-9 tie early on. Could be a short match if this keeps up.

Cornell jumped out to 6-0 and 10-4 leads in game 2, then sees Hofstra come back to even it, see-saw to 30, but Big Red pulls it out 32-30.
Games now 1 - 1.
Games now 1 - 1.

And Hofstra jumps out to a quick lead and maintains it to take game 5 and the match, 15-11. According to Gametracker, Cornell hits .000 in game 5.
