March 8 poll has Cornell still in 8th while Princeton climbs one to sixth. Virgnia beats Syracuse; they trade places for first. Four Ivies in the top 20 and one also receiving votes. Only Penn and Dartmouth omitted.
------------------------
Feb 28 - Princeton leapfrogs Cornell in the USILA polls as we both play our first games. Princeton took down #11 Hofstra 17-14 while Cornell beat Hobart by 3, 10-7. Same three-goal margin. The only 2 top 10 teams to lose ground were Cornell and Duke. Interesting to see how real #3 Notre Dame is this year (although beating Duke at Duke in week 1 is an indcator).

We're also #8 in the 3/1 [www.laxpower.com] poll FWIW.

Touchdown Jesus seems to have given up on football, can't skate when it really counts, and must have been catching some rays out of town when Maryland showed up for lax last year. I'll predict they fizzle again this year.

JHU didn't get punished for the close call against Siena? Odd.

Only odd if you don't follow college lacrosse

I didn't really follow the Hobart game at all, but on its face, a fairly close win against a mediocre team isn't all that impressive. For those who did - was the game about as close as the score indicated? Closer? More lopsided?

Reports from the pre-season and then from the week leading up to the game say Cornell had more injuries than the norm. [edit add, clarifying] So the final 10-7 score was closer than might have been expected from the strength of the pre-season roster, and the early fourth-period margin of 9-4 may have been a better indication of Cornell's command of the game.Josh '99

You generally seem like a pretty bright guy. How about reading between the lines a little and stop being so internetty.Josh '99

Cornell leading Canisiius 8-6 mid fourth period. Ugly game to this point. Canisius on a two-goal run.
9-6 on a Lang alley dodge.
9-6 final; Pannell 1-3=4; Hurley 3-1=4; Ritchie 2-0=2; Fiore 9 saves

9-6 final. A win, but not much of a statement. Certainly room for improvement!
