A companion thread to Cornell in the Movies.

This whole piece was amazing, but I'd like to direct your attention to the very end.

I know it has been beaten to death in this forum, but I happened to catch the tail end of an episode of The Office (US) and the Cornell connection was obvious. In the last minute or so of the episode I saw 1) Cornell pennant 2) Cornell diploma and most significantly: 3) Cornell hockey figurine.

Potential recruiting violation. Cornell, take institutional control.

Cornell was half of answer on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

The Chapins on Merv Griffin introduced as being "all out of Cornell University," though I think only Harry actually attended Cornell. Tom went to SUNY Potsdam.

Thanks, brought back memories. After I brought a car up to Cornell my sophomore year, I’d drop Harry off at his home in the Bronx on my way to Long Island. I think he “busted out” our junior year. He started out in Architecture, then, as I recall, sojourned a while in Arts and Sciences before leaving for good. BTW, many of us took the bus to NYC our freshman year, which went through Scranton, PA — “30,000 Pounds of Bananas” was a Chapin staple. He appeared in a Barton Hall concert with Phil Ochs and Eric Weisberg in support of Ramsey Clark in the early 70s. He was killed in 1981 when his VW was rear-ended on the LIE.

One of my faves. Of course, I grew up about 6 blocks from that hill, so I'm biased.

And FWIW, coming down that hill on a 3-speed bike is terrifying.
