The kid is admitted to Harvard ... he has had run-ins with school ... he's the valedictorian ... the HS says he can't be the speaker unless he sees a psychiatrist first ... [www.nj.com]

Is Harvard's ChE Dept. even accredited? It wasn't when I was a student.

Can I concentrate in chemical engineering?
While there is no current degree in chemical engineering, students may find the biomedical engineering track within the Engineering Sciences degree program a suitable alternative. Love it. Also love one of the FAQ (What distinguishes Harvard’s academic programs in engineering?) answers. "In a word: Harvard."
Of course there's blah blah blah more explanation but I'll just leave it at that.

Better choice might be Swarthmore College with a well established (but small and excellent Engineering program) My son graduated in 2012 with a BA in Economics and a BS in Engineering.

Congratulations. Acceptance at Swarthmore is a tremendous accomplishment and graduation even more so. Does the engineering program give out as many Cs as the rest of the school?

Marty, Thank you. During my years 68-74 it seemed to be as hard as any other program. My son says he thought it was. Graduation might be about (from 2012) 380 + BA's and maybe a 12-15 BS degrees my rough estimate. But from friends who graduated Swarthmore as engineers, none had a problem with engineering grad school or admittance to them.
A great summer to all. I am already hoping to make it to Florida for first time this coming December.
