It has come to this: The Harvard Corporation turns to [www.groupon.com] Groupon to sell off damaged goods (tickets to see Harvard hockey). $10 gets you two tickets to see Harvard play Dartmouth. RPI and Clarkson are valued more highly, 2/$15. The blurb says, "Approximately 2,800 Crimson fans pack the Bright Hockey Center during glacial bouts, rattling visiting squads with wall-shaking decibel levels and inspiring the home team by doo-wopping the university fight song during timeouts." There's also an Ask a Question button. Perhaps you can ask the timeless question about Harvard hockey.

"glacial bouts?" I get what they were going for, but glaciers are pretty slow moving and not really all that exciting to watch...

"Limited quantity available" but the smart money says that they don't hit the limit, which is "the capacity of the arena."

Seven hours before Groupon brings down the curtain, "over 200" sold. Say 300 sold, maybe $4,000 in revenue split 50-50, then the Crimson have to be doing this to keep Bright from looking like a ghost town. Maybe it's a real-time B School case study.ugarte
