He came to Cornell just a year before our class and stayed nearly 20 years. So many of my Cornell memories are tied to his tenure.

At our last class reunion he joined us for a class lunch. I have used the word "class" here a lot and that is a good word to describe him.

What I remember is he also taught a session of a class (Geo 101 ?) each semester. He didn't just seal himself away in Day Hall.
