Cornell uniforms, logo-wear

Apropos of the New York Times article on Cornell partisans seeking a better image including trying to get more traditional shirts, caps, cocktail glasses, and so forth on sale in the campus store ...
What's with the Cornell lacrosse uniforms? Do we really need the black accents? Many people spoke admiringly of Cornell's traditional hockey uniforms. The lax team seems to hew to the styles of the season. One thing about uniforms: What looks cool from 10 feet away looks a lot different from the stands. Maybe it's more important that your uniform terrorize the opponent than cause swoons of delight from students and alumni watching. If so, okay. Maybe the colors ran in the rain at Penn. The guys in them are doing fine. And there's the study showing teams wearing read win, what, 53% of their games, so we've got the right color scheme. (Be thankful we didn't go to Princeton or Brown.) I think the study was done before the Red Wings played Edmonton, though.
About logo-wear: Who wants to buy stuff in the campus store that says Cornell Alumni. If you're 10, 25, 50 years out and you wear something that says Cornell, it's pretty likely the "Alumni" part can be assumed. Or is there interest in differentiating between a 50-year-old Cornell parent and 50-year-old Cornell alum?
Has anyone every seen a "Harvard Alumni" license plate frame? That would be rubbing it in. The frame might just as well say "Key my car."
