So has everyone voted for their favorite Cornelians for Hobey-Baker? It's quite painless. You just have to go to [www.hobeybaker.com]
give them a valid email address, wait for them to send you a password, then you can vote for Underhill, Murray, and Bâby. Underhill's currently in 20th place, but if we can get him up into the top 10, he'll make it into the next phase of the selection process.

BTW, it's my understanding that you can vote once PER DAY, not just once, so unless someone corrects me, keep those votes comming folks...

So at the time I write this, 1,438 people have cast votes saying that Kerry Ellis-Toddington is the best player in the country this year. That's amusing.

Probably the same 50 Clarkson fans voting daily for the last month...

See what we could do to help Undy if the faithful put their collective minds (or at least fingers) to it? :)

Yeah, and to what end? If you can manage to outstuff the other schools through every round, he gets 1% of the vote for something he's unlikely to be in the running for.

I would have thought that some enterprising cs geek would have a script that votes on behalf of every x.cornell.edu email address every day.

If so, I vote we all back Hornby. He'll beat up the other finalists at the banquet.

Does anyone else find it somewhat interesting (amusing/embarrassing) that our foes from the North Country have placed their beloved Kerry Ellis-Toddington in front of the likes of a Ryan Miller (2001 winner), (2) Cam McCormick (currently the best goalie in the country) and (3) Jeff Taffe (tied for third in goals scored). I mean their boy Kerry is currently tied for 19th in conference scoring (ouch)!! Do they not realize how stupid they look when he show's up ahead of these players that actually deserve to be there?!?! Oh well, I guess we have come expect from a bunch of second-rate engineers. . .uhoh

:-) **No disrespect was meant for anyone who is a Cornell engineer, we all know you're much better than those Clarkson wanna-bees.**:-)

i'm doubtful that the lion's share of the clarkson fans really think E-T is such hot stuff... but lets not get carried away in disrespecting other people as "stupid" for the actions of a few..

how would we like it if some idiot voted baby or murray up to the top and we had to defend ourselves against being whatever the hot stereotype is for cornell students? (not to take anything away from either of them, but they're obviously not the best players in the nation)

and actually..i do find it kind of embarassing in a way even though i'm not from clarkson (but from an ecac school i guess)-real clarkson fans must be even MORE flustered uhoh

Point well taken, and for the record I didn't call anyone stupid;-)

hehehe. funny greg! laugh

must admit that i am surprised (yet quite happy) to see hornby still playing this late in the season (thought that with his rough hits he'd have injured himself or have been injured by someone who got hit around a little too much and needed revenge)

...and exactly the reason why I think that the fans shouldn't be trusted with having any part in Hobey selection. Even if it is a very small percentage of the process. (did anyone think the presidential election would ever really come down to a few hundred votes?) For every fan who makes an objective decision, there are hundreds of Homers for just about every team in the nation just concerned with making sure their player(s) get recognized. Keep the poll because it's fun for a lot of people, but please don't validate the ballot stuffing by having it count.

Then there's the whole different beast of whether or not you trust the coaches and members of the selection committee, but I think that a good enough cross-section is voted to the committee to eliminate any regional biases that exsist.

Didn't we just prove that this is what we do with Presidential elections? B-]
