I think it's kind of amusing that USCHO is giving a lot of press to Providence's 7-0 record thus far. If you look at who they have played, not counting the exhibition game, they have a combined 9-20-5 record. Only one team actually has a winning record at 4-3.... Ahhh, guess they got to celebrate what they can...

I was sort of lamenting the fact that we won't get to play Providence this fall; in the last fifteen years, it's been an unusually frequent occurrence that the one team in the NCAA who has a theoretical shot at a perfect season has to come through us to do it, and we're the ones to take it away from them. I can remember specific instances with Princeton one year (when we were the only two unbeaten, untied teams left, in fact), and SLU another (they were 8-0-0 coming in and we beat them 4-0), and I'm sure I'm forgetting at least one other instance.
Then it occurred to me we probably don't have much to worry about, since they have to play UNH, BU, and Maine pretty soon.
Despite the record of the teams they've beaten, they actually got a first-place vote in this week's USCHO.com poll. We ended up ahead of 'em anyway.

A 7-0 start is nothing to sneeze at, no matter who the opponents were. Over the last couple of years we've seen that either team can win on any given night -- and we've come out on both sides of that.

*achoo*
I'll bet you a basket of corn nuggets they're not in the top 15 come the end of the season.

OK. I think I owe you a basket of corn nuggets anyway.
Even if they lose every single game for the rest of the season, I'll remain impressed with their 7-0 start.

They used to serve something called "Blazing Sea Nuggets" at RPU. Anyone else alarmed by this?

I have it on good authority that the Chariot starts from frozen corn nuggets, so you must be able to buy them somewhere. Maybe you have to pretend you run a restaurant.

I could eat enough corn nuggets to pretend I'm a restaurant
