I thought that I was going to miss CU hockey for the first time in 6 years, but I will at least make it to one game this year. See, I am currently living in Virginia, and in early November, I'm moving to Germany, so trips to Ithaca aren't exactly easy. However, I'll be in Ohio for 3 weeks at the end of October/beginning of November, so I'll be headed to the Cornell / OSU game on Nov 1! Anyone else here going? It should be interesting, since I'm going with my girlfriend, who's never seen a CU game, and she went to OSU, so we'll be cheering for opposing teams...should be fun.

I'm planning to go. It'll be my first trip to a Western school (if Ohio can be considered Western), and I'm really looking forward to it. (Along with the rest of the season. Is it October yet?)

I have Friday classes that will keep me away from most Cornell hockey weekends. However, there is no class November 1 or December 6, so I could fly to Columbus or Kalamazoo, respectively. But I was actually planning on making the Western Michigan trip rather than the Ohio State one, since it's two games rather than one. Anyone planning to go to WMU?

We're going, and meeting friends from Cleveland. So that's at least 5 of us.

I got invited to a workshop at Penn State the week before, and that Friday is a school holiday at Loyola (All Saints' Day) so it looks like I will also be at the game in Cowlumbus, along with a high school friend who lives in Pittsburgh. So what are we up to, seven?
I wonder if Mr. Five O'Clock (from 2000 Everblades tourney) will be there.

Great to hear it...I'll have to try and find you, John, as well as the others. The place at OSU is huge, so I hear, and likely won't sell out, so we should all be able to get together (to the chagrin of my girlfriend) and cheer on the Red.

I'm sure we can coordinate meeting up through the magic of the internet. Also, if we all buy our tickets through Cornell, we ought to be in the same section.
Columbus Hotel Availability Warning

Everybody should be aware that Ohio State has a home football game against Minnesota that weekend, so hotel rooms may become scarce. The Holiday Inn and Red Roof Inn which Yahoo! lists as being within a half-mile of the Schottenstein Center have no rooms for Friday night according to their on-line booking. I was able to book a room at the Super 8 a mile or so down the road. (No idea where this is relative to postgame watering holes.)

I wouldn't worry about finding watering holes in Columbus.
Columbus isn't that big, but it is big enough to have plenty to do if you are there for only a weekend. The Short North is (was) the hip part of town when I went there for job interview, and the city appeared to have a good bar/music scene.
