Thank you for posting that!

One of the standouts on this first day of practices was the play of someone who is seen to e somewhat of a sleeper pick to make the team, goaltender David Leneveu. The Phoenix Coyotes draft pick, and Cornell University star, displays a great attitude when faced with his goal of making the club. When praised for his play, the amicable LeNeveu laughed and replied, “I am not taking things too seriously, just trying to shake off the cobwebs a bit and play as best I can.”

From the Canadian Hockey Association site:

Day 5

David LeNeveu of Fernie, B.C., was the only goalie who played well as he stopped 20 of 22 shots.

It's great to see that LeNeveu is doing well; its great for him and bodes well for Cornell's prospects, not to mention it speaks highly of Coach and Cornell to be able to attract such a high caliber player. But..., selfish thinking has me bummed that we could be without Lenny's services for the Xmas tourney and the Clarkson/St. Lawrence road trip (it's been a few years since Cornell has had such an early January ECAC weekend, right?). I guess the guys will just have to rise to the occasion and show that the team is more than just one player. Oh yeah, the wait for the season to start is growing unbearable.

In terms of statistics.....

David finishes the camp #1 in GAA....at 4.97.

#2 in save %, at 85.71.

Those Red/White games must have been like watching a tennis match

Shhh. The Rangers aren't planning on signing him until 2017...

Actually, I beg to differ. The Rangers'll probably sign him away from the Coyotes or pick him us as an add on in some deal. He'll spend 2 or 3 years in Hartford, win a couple Calder Cups, during which times he'll play *maybe* 5 or 10 games as a Ranger when Richter (or whoever) is hurt. Right when he's on pace to make a big break into the NHL, the Ranger'll trade him in a multi-player deal for 35 year old, over the hill Temu Selani (sp) and someone like Brendan Shanahan, who will proceed to eat up salary and have their least productive years ever.

At least, that's how I see it.

His 13 victories, 2.72 goals against average and .910 save percentage established new career-best marks. Snee was also named to the ECAC "Honor Roll" on February 9 and was selected as the ECAC "Goaltender of the Week" for the periods ending October 15 and February 3.

Surely this is a mistake, and the Rangers were thinking they were signing Leeor Shtrom as a long-overdue replacement for Lou Fontinato.
