This year's 7 juniors (29% of the roster) accounted for 170 of the team's 316 points (54%). B-] The three top scorers (each w/32 pts.) were all juniors. That class also gave us 4 of the top 5 scorers (i.e., 4/5 of that awesome power-play unit) and 6 of the top 9 scorers. Impressive bunch!

By contrast, this year's 6 seniors represented only 66 of 316 points (21%). (Yes, that includes Undy's assist. :-) ) And, since this year's freshmen & sophomores only made up a combined 25% of the scoring uhoh, I'm really hoping that the incoming freshmen inject some serious firepower into the mix. help

So, next year's squad will be bursting with kick-ass senior firepower, and '03 should be our "year of destiny". This will be especially true if the '06-ers produce right away. If, however, next year's freshmen do not live up to their promise, then '04 may be quite a letdown (i.e., it will be rather difficult to defend our national title!). :-P

Class - '01 pts. - '02 pts.

2001 ..... 23 ...............

2002 ..... 41 ......... 66

2003 .... 100 ....... 170

2004 ..... 34 ......... 43

2005 .................... 37

Totals: .. 198 ....... 316

(Please excuse my short-bus formatting.)

(Check out last year's seniors!!!) twitch

This year's seniors, while not exactly burnin' up the scoresheets, at least had their share of improvement. The sophomore class... well... the sophomore class was Ryan Vesce -- he contributed 70% of that group's production! As for the freshmen... Knoepfli & Cook were the offense there (combined 70%). That class will be known more for their defensive ability (Cook, Downs, LeNeveu).

Summary: Thank God (and Schafer) for the Class of 2003!!!

(P.S. -- Just for fun, I added up this year's production of our Recruit Class of '02 (5 forwards & 1 d-man -- next year's freshmen)... 399 points! Woo-hoo! (I know, I know... more games, different style of play, etc.... but DAMN!!!))

Very interesting stats. It would be interesting to see how all that pans out if the PP stats are removed... obviously difficult, but with such a good PP, those stats get skewed towards our awesome tandem of Paolini, Bâby, Vesce, Murray, & McRae...

Yeah, it would be interesting to net out the even-strength points and see what that does to the table... maybe the next time I "need" to procrastinate... ;-)

Don't forget that Sammy did next to nothing his freshman year. I expect big things from Knoepfli and Iggulden before all is said and done. Also, Iggy was sidelines and hampered by that broken wrist for a lot of the year too.
