FWIW, they weighed in on the fast/slow question:

Left coast types can discuss. I'm going to bed.
Fact or fiction: The Big Red are slow.
Fact or fiction: The Big Red will have trouble on the Olympic ice sheet because they are slow.
Fact or fiction: Someone is making this all up
The first two are fiction, the last is fact. And that's a fact.

Good idea, I was going to say I'm with you, but I don't think my wife, say nothing about myself, would like that.

Although I need to finish packing, I'll take up the invitation. I agree with Jayson and Becky. When I watched the BU series on tv (take my comments with a grain of salt because this weekend will be the first time I am seeing the Big Red live this season), I felt like Cornell in the first game was able to skate with BU. Watching Saturday's victory over Yale on tv convinced me further that the Big Red's reputation for skating poorly is unfounded.
A bye?

From last I heard, I thought we were most decidedly on the bubble, but now USCHO says we are good candidates and Blaeser/Moy are talking about a bye.. I mean I assume the bye is only possible with the Whitelaw.. but I thought we were more teetering on the edge than uscho seems to let on.

We're far from bulletproof for a bid right now. With one or two losses this weekend we could be on the outside looking in come Sunday. However, we could also get in with one or two losses, depending on how everything else stacks up. Yes, I don't think we could rise to Top 4 without winning the title and we would need some help even then but it certainly could happen.
Are we on the bubble? We're close to it. But the beauty of the PWR (or stupidity, depending on your POV) is that it can change very quickly even at this late date. So it means that very little is set in stone, especially when the chance of tourney upsets is thrown in.
We should know a bit more by game time Friday with 3 games of importance being played Thursday night (CC-Wisc, NMU-ND, UAF-OSU). Losses by NMU, UAF or CC would probably erase any chances of those teams catching us, though they would leave the possibility of Wisc, ND or OSU winning their tourneys.

The CCHA play-in games are Friday. Semifinals Saturday, final at 3:00 pm Sunday. That's why the selection show is at 9:00 PM on Sunday this year.
