From the Clarkson-Union game 1 recap:
[Q]"They had a lot more jam than we did," Union coach Nate Leaman said. "They wanted the puck a little bit more than us. We talked all week that this series was going to be won around the net. I know that all eight of their goals were from right around the paint." [/Q]
So, is this "jam" thing a hep, new phrase for hockey coaches, or is it just a coincidence that Leaman used the same vague metaphor that Mazz the Rat did in December?

So Sucks and Onion could get together and jam in the off-season?

They can keep their jam; I'll take my peanut butter anyday. And as we all know, peanut butter is better on the top bread slice of the sandwich.

And it sticks to the roof of the standings!
"You're just Smuckers! Clap clap...Clap clap clap!"

Jeff, that's a better use of the metaphor, much better than what I could come up with at 4:30AM.

Not to rain on your parades, "jam" is not a new phrase. Maybe it's new around college hockey, but I've heard the term used around NHL teams for years.

Eh, I say we continue to use the peanut butter metaphor for ourselves anyway.
