If the hockey office keeps game films from past years...
If the radio station(s) keep the broadcasts from past years...
Anybody see where I'm going with this?
I mean, no, I wouldn't ncessarily want a DVD with every game from 1987 on it. Ew. But imagine one of the 1986 ECAC's. Or the 1970 NCAA's...

...or the 1979 6-5 (OT) win over Providence in the first round of the ECACs!

Some time c. 1982 they showed a film of the 1970 national championship game at the Straight. So someone at Cornell has, or had anyway, a film of it. I'lm sure if someone put it on videotape or DVD they would be buyers.
Ditto buyers of an audio of of broadcasts of Sam Woodside, Roy Ives, Grady calling "Great Moments in Cornell Hockey."

Seems to me this could be a great fundraiser for the team.

Sam Woodside ranked right up there with Yogi: "...Dartmouth in their dark green uniforms; Cornell wearing dark white..."
Maybe Laura can tell us if any "ancient treasures" really do exist in the archives. I'd sure be interested.
Along the same lines, info on this weekend's annual athletic rummage sale is located here:

At one time the team had cassettes of the third period of the CU Providence game (the most incredible game I have seen - except for maybe the come from behind CU Hopkins game here). In fact, I probably still have it somewhere. I believe it was put together by Roy Ives and Tom Joseph (WHCU at that time) for the banquet that year.

Hmmm... intriguing... are you referring to the 12-11 Big Red win over the Blue Jays in '77? (As far as I can tell, it's the only time we've ever beaten them here (at home) in the regular season.)
I'd be highly interested in seeing that Providence game... or the '70 NCAA championship game... or any game w/Dryden in goal... or... or... )

oh man, i would totally purchase the game films of 1970 NCAAs if they were available... and as a matter of fact, the films for the 1967 NCAAs would work as well...
just out of curiosity, did the 1970 hockey team ever have a reunion of some sort?

There was a 25th anniversary reunion of the 1970 team in Ithaca. Resulted in a quite large NY Times article. Both the '67 and '70 teams were honored at the hockey team's golf outing and banquet in July 2000. Many players were there (including Dryden) and Ned was the guest of honor. Nice time.
