ahh..ok...I know who this mike is now. You were in Section A last year, correct? Over in B we affectionately referred to you as hockey geek (at least the group I was with), though I'm not sure where that came from.

Actually, the "Welcome to Harvard" cheer has been around at least since the 2001-2002 season (the last time I made it to a Cornell-Harvard game; actually the last three times ).

yep, this is my 4th year in section a, right on the aisle. "hockey geek?" at least it's affectionate.

john whelan is correct, we've been doing that cheer since my sophomore year. it makes one hell of a great sign or saying, and causes limitless trademark infringement problems with potential t-shirt design, as mr hyla can attest to.

Brown may suck, swallow, etc. but there skating band amuses me to no end. Is it wrong to want to see a guy fall and a tuba wind up on his head?

I don't think it's wrong, especially if it's Brown... I know I laughed my tuchass off a few years ago when the skating bear skated into the goal and his head fell off during the final game striptease...

It's like a team, except they choke. Well, but they're not really a choke, they're more like a funnel. Actually I wouldn't say funnel, they're kinda a vacuum. Except that Stanford has a reasonably attractive campus. Harvard's campus is just plain UGLY.

I just want to point out that, despite their big win over BC last night, Harvard does still, in fact, suck.

I can't go to Ithaca for the game tomorrow night. I will also miss the game on CSTV. So, Hahvahd really, truly sucks.

OK, here is another reason why Harvard sucks (Warning: attempted name dropping follows).

I am a beginner hockey player and I accidentally found myself in a way-over-my-head pickup game yesterday where three players were literally skating circles around me. It turns out they they all played for Harvard in the early 90s (Ian Knish?, Bejamin something and something something).

After the game I told them that I had gone to Cornell and had probably cheered against them many times. They said "Oh yeah we are your biggest rival but you are like our sixth biggest rival". That may have been true in the early 90s but I would like to think that we are in their top five by now.

At least they acknowledged that Lynah was the best place to play.

Any of you guys that have been following the team for (quite) awhile remember Harry Reynolds from '69-'71?

I found one article so far in which it listed Harry and his 3rd-line mates as providing the fore-checking and a goal to upset #1 B.U. to make the ECAC final in 1971. I am just curious because I play goal in a pick-up skate with him.

Harry seemed to try a little harder when I wore my Chabot #1 red jersey the other night. I noticed he switched from the dark jersey he had on into a white Harvard practice jersey so he could play against me. He always wears his original Crimson pants, too. I shut him down though.
