As some of you know, and others may have surmised by my lack of posting, last year was not my best. What's done is behind me and I hope this will be a better year.

Anyway here's what I have from the ECAC schedule. No exhibitions, OOC, Colgate or MSG are set yet.

Note game times are 7PM EST unless otherwise noted.

The NCAA Regionals are not listed, but weekend should be correct.

I did a copy and paste from this year's, so might have some mistakes in transition.

As in the past, if you have info about errors or additions, post it and I’ll update this.

Attached is the ECAC schedule, minus the traveling partners.

I'll do the Women's schedule later.

When does the full official schedule for next season usually come out?

Any rumors on what the OOC games will be, assume return games for AIC & SHU?

I doubt we’ll go to both AIC & SHU - at most one of them.

Selfishly, I would love to see them come to SHU's new building sometime. But when's the last time Schafer agreed to a road game with an AHA team? RIT? Did they ever visit Niagara?

I'm pretty sure Miami was at Lynah the season before.

I'd expect Duluth to be at Lynah next season and then BU at MSG along with the holiday tournament games at Lake Placid. UND doesn't play at Lynah until 2024-25 as mentioned elsewhere

Schafer pretty much requires a home-and-home when scheduling OOC games in order to make deals with the schools "bigger" than Cornell, so I highly doubt he isn't willing to give on them for the "smaller" ones.

I looked it up (thanks Greg for making it relatively easy). Since 1996, games for MAAC/AHA teams, it looks like:
Army: 1 road, 3 home
Canisius: 2 home
Mercyhurst: 2 home
Quinnipiac: 1 home
RIT: 1 road, 3 home
Niagara: 2 neutral, 3 road, 12 home

Most recent was 2015.

Not sure what this means but this is pretty normal practice for many of the non power teams.

We dont go home and homes with the canadian schools either.

And its also a function of money.. The schools may make more coming here and playing than they do playing at home for all we know.

How?

I don't think they get a piece of the gate and there are no broadcast rights (or what there are are league, and meager).

Unless we literally pay teams to come to Lynah, I can't see how any of them gross dollar one.

Those coming from the current coach, Scott Sandelin, in 2011, 2018, 2019. Plus, since 2011, an additional FF semifinal loss and title game loss.

When the 1994 MLB season got cut short due to a strike, Sports Illustrated did a mock-up of the postseason that wasn't, including a magazine cover of the Cubs-Red Sox World Series. (It was funnier at the time since both clubs had decades-long droughts going.) Maybe CHN should do a mockup homepage for 2020 with a Cornell-UMD national championship game. (Although to complete the analogy we'd need Clarkson winning the title.)

At the time of the stoppage, North Dakota was #1 in PWR, Cornell #1 in the polls, with the conference tournaments coming up. There were murmurs once everything was officially cancelled that they should raise a banner in the Ralph.

I just can't see the point in a holiday tourny or any OOC game vs an ECAC member. Surely they can get 4 teams not in the same conference to get together for a holiday set. I liked the original Florida lineup because of this. Ohio State, Maine, Cornell and "plus one" was fun.

I agree with your point, but Maine and Cornell were the hosts in Florida. OSU was not an annual participant.

I like the idea of an annual Cornell-Clarkson hosted tourney, where we each play somebody in the SF. Make Lake Placid Cornell's home away from home. Demystify it for March.

What I don't understand is why ASU is coming, when they could host the single best location for a Christmas tournament. Phoenix is as pleasant in December as it is horrifying in August.

With something like 60 D-1 Ice Hockey teams out there, Why are we playing Clarkson and Arizona State 3 times in a season, outside of playoffs? Is scheduling that hard or is there a behind the scenes/relationship/reputation problem I am missing?

Ease of getting tickets for Cornell-at-Arizona State in January? ASU's rink is called Mullett Arena. As God is my witness. (Mullett with two T's although half the stories seem to say Mullet.) ASU says it seats 5,000 for NCAA hockey, 4,600 for the pros. The Cornell-ASU games are Friday-Saturday, Jan. 12-13. While that's Cornell's winter break, for ASU, classes will have resumed 1/8/24.

This is the ASU tickets landing page: [thesundevils.com]
If you google ASU tickets, you wind up on the Ticketmaster ASU tickets page: [am.ticketmaster.com] ... or StubHub shows up. Sheesh.
Cornell may have an allocation of visiting team tickets.

It depends on how crowded ASU games are. This story says ASU averaged 4,791 fans at the Mullett. [collegehockeyinc.com] First weekend of January of the 2022-23 season, ASU played a four-team tournament, draw was 4,973, the following weekend in a home game vs. Michigan Tech, it was 4,956.

Individual tickets for the game at Princeton go on sale today. No purchase link yet available but I imagine that'll change soon.

Edit: Apparently only standing room tickets are available--not even 48 hours after purchase became possible. May also be that many group tickets sold so not as many individual seats available

I didn't want to start a new thread for this, so I put it here.
I'm planning on going to North Country in February to watch Cornell play at Clarkson and St. Lawrence. Do I need to buy tickets ahead of time for those games? Is there a Cornell club up there which gets a block of tickets? Any advice on decent restaurants for a pre-game meal? Any advice would be appreciated.

Frank Pepe and Sally's are now opening locations beyond New Haven. Not quite the originals but still very good.

There are more than 15,000 college students in Canton, pop. 7,000 (St. Lawrence, Appleton Arena, 3,200 seats, and older by 7 years than Lynah) and Potsdam pop. 15,000 (Clarkson, Cheel Arena 4200 seating). So, yeah, there's food to be had but it is not as, ah, eclectic as in Ithaca. Beyond pizza, there's Chinese, Indian, Thai. County Seat in Canton has a goodly sized bar. You'll find something. The places on the main drag in Canton (Main Street) are serviceable but the food is better than the decor, such as at A-1 Oriental.

If you've got time to kill Saturday and you've already visited Tractor Supply Co. and WalMart on the Canton-Potsdam Road, consider leaving town for lunch at Raquette River Brewing, in Raquette Lake, an hour southeast. A very nice drive if sunny and a reminder Ithaca is not that isolated. RRB is about the size of Ithaca Brewing (the mothership, not Collegetown), the big difference being you get food at RRB outside from a fleet of food trucks which in winter is down to one that makes wood-fired pizzas and I believe sandwiches. (Check their FB page or call to verify.) Or you could go an hour and a half into Lake Placid. Go early, head back early: Sunset is a little after 5:30

You could also kill time Saturday driving along the St. Lawrence River 20 minutes away and it's worth going up the US side and back down the Canadian side if you have your passport. Ampersand Bay is picturesque and a couple good restaurants, the ones that are open.

Oh, you asked about tickets. I've gotten tickets in advance, I've also showed up day-of-game and gotten tickets but I think that's a little risky. At both places.

We've almost survived the Little Death, with less than a week to go. Everybody be safe and happy holidays one and all.

Is the 24-25 ECAC non-travel partner schedule available?

Historically, Jim Hula has posted it on January 1. I know that Jim had personal problems a year ago, but since I do not know him, I an not aware of the current situation or if someone else has access to it.

A fairly reputable source told me that Cornell at Yale (and by extension at Brown) will be in February next year. Can't speak for anything else
