Things have been really no bueno for Yale so far. They've been shut out their last 4 games. Woof.

1-0 on a grindy tip from Tupker at the end of the first. Getting chippy in the second (both ways).

Great work to hold the puck from O'Leary who centers a perfect pass to Seger who sent it in. 2-0 4 minutes into the second.

Donaldson drives hard passes back from the goal line to Tupker who bangs in his second. Floodgates opening up.

Cornell goes on the PP 5:30 into the second.

bing-bang-bong donaldson up top to mitchell in the circle across to bancroft for an easy tip in and his first Cornell goal on the PP. 4-0. 7 minutes in to the second now.

only concern is steinburg left the ice after getting hit on the hand or wrist early in the period (his glove was still on the ice for seger's goal iirc) and i'm not sure if he's been out on the ice again.

Vanini said Matt's lost glove might actually have confused Hopkins on Seger's goal.

Every year that passes I feel better about 2013. They caught lightning in a bottle, but it wasn’t the beginning of some dynasty.

At that time, I wished, of course, that it had been us, and I continue to hope that, someday in my future, it will be our turn one more time, but, at this point, I’m kind of, “Good for them. In no reasonable world can they hope it will happen again anytime soon.”

O’Leary was just a wrecking ball last night. But boy is Yale just dreadful. How did that happen? I think AllIain is an excellent coach-can’t recruit? If you combined Allain and Drury-who can’t coach his way out of a paper bag but boy can he recruit-you’d have the worlds greatest coach.

I wonder if Yale admissions hasn’t been as generous to Allain as they were a decade ago. That’s what happened with Princeton lacrosse in the late Tierney years, leading to his move to Denver.

It was two games Friday: first 50 minutes, excellent execution, some good bounces, Yale shot wide on two gaping (okay, 2 feet on the left side in the second) chances. Then we took penalties in the last 10 minutes esp. the 2-man-down. Shots were like 10-3 in the first, total of 16-4 in the second after the fourth Cornell goal, and 25-6 when the seond period buzzer sounded.

Announced attendance 3,700, every section except the bowl end pretty full by the start of the second period. (photo)

And to Dartmouth hockey, circa 1982. They never recovered.

My impression from some alumni is it happened to RPI in the last decade as well, and they are only now starting to dig their way out of it.

We are trying our best, but most of the students in the further sections (D,E,F) are not season ticket holders so are not privy to the traditions and chants. (Surprisingly a decent portion of A seemed to not know the chants last night either) hopefully as the season progresses we will get more synced together

Someone needs to bang together a cheer-guide app , then get a big mouth lynah veteran who'll act like an idiot and try to start the cheers, and get them a permanent seat somewhere near the bottom of C.

In typing that out I realized that all the students standing for the whole game makes it more difficult to get cheers organized. Back when people sat for games and didn't stand all game, if someone down near the glass stood up, turned around and yelled their cheer or intention back at the crowd it was pretty obvious it was happening. (Says the not-quite-yet-codger has never liked the stand-all game bullshit)

Dunc, another Section B vet here (normally row A, but currently out with COVID - should be back for Sacred Heart) - I was thinking about printing a bunch of 1/4 cards with some of the basic cheers and then a QR code with a link to a site with the rest of the info, but not sure about the cost or if Lynah staff would yell at me for trying to distribute. I don't think we need a full blown iOS or Android app, but a website that loads quickly on the crappy Lynah WiFi should be good enough.

Given the COVID cancellations and the (insert expletive directed at Cornell ticketing/leadership) single-game ticketing system last year, the current seniors only have the 2019-2020 season of experience (if they went as freshmen) and everyone else is complete rookies. As a super-senior, I've got slightly more than that, but barely. Looking at the livestream last night, it didn't look like D/E were even doing the Alma Mater. :(

We NEED to get the word out about what we are yelling before Harvard on 12/2.

Shoot me a PM or an email if you want to try and coordinate.

I like the students standing all game, if only because it leads to a marginal drop in sucking on their iPacifiers. I'm hopeful B and D can coordinate and get C on the same page. Also, we did go a whole year without games so it's up to the seniors to make sure all the lore is passed on before they split. This s a good opportunity for some cheer Darwinism, too. If the leaders in those sections do their jobs we can kill remote control goalie Jeopardy forever.

Band’s in New York today, so it’s probably a skeleton pep band. Doesn’t justify piped in crap, because what’s wrong with just letting people cheer or talk? But that’s probably what’s going on.

I heard no piped-in yesterday when the band was better in attendance.

Yale is not looking good, and I think we’re on our game tonight.

And apparently so is Colgate tonight because they're up 6-0 after two periods. It's going to be a loooong season in New Haven

Yale has all of 4 shots through 2 periods in Hamilton

But hey Whaler legend Kevin Dineen’s kid plays there, so that’s all the CT media needs to give them ink.

A modernized app version of this [www.elynah.com] actually isn't a bad idea - I'll look into coding one up (CS Major Hockey Fans FTW)

Totally agree we need to organize something before Harvard - I’ll shoot you a dm after the game tonight

The Kids are alright. A cheer for Dunc & laserwhisperer for posting here & carrying on. I was worried this forum was going to be ‘65-‘97 old dudes talking over each over forever. Please keep it up.

I was thrilled to see the keys out vs Yale. Lynah’s in good hands.
