Yesterday's "Big Red Updates" email from Cornell Athletics said, among many other things:

Cornell Athletics
The good news, finally, is that all eight Ivy League schools anticipate a normal fall academic and athletics experience. In fact, it is possible that the Ivy presidents allow [sic] an earlier start to fall team practice to provide additional preparation time given the loss of fall sport training in the spring.

Hopefully the Ivies finally align both their calendar and their schedule length with the rest of the NC$$. Tat would be one good thing to come out of this.

I get that it's branding, but there are better ways to scam parents.

Three better scams:

Delayed offsides

Graduated income tax

Write-in ballots

puzzle me.

In my day, Dean Rusk and Maxwell Taylor were "typical" parents. Taylor and Rusk directly benefited from defense spending. And both had sufficient loopholes to avoid taxes. So how are such things a "scam."?

How? (1) A preponderance of write-in ballots might be for an opponent! (2) Way too many multi-buzillionaires pay way too much in taxes. (3) Delayed offsides slow the game down and discourage treachery - like income taxes!
