cleaning out a closet the other day, and I came across this old photo of a game against Providence. Kind of fitting, as that was the last game of this past season. Bonus points if you can name the specific game...

I assume that is "The Game."

I don't think so. There's a picture I found online and the Providence goalie in "The Game" was wearing #29.

Maybe the 1980 ECAC semi-final at the Garden?

Not the '79 game at Lynah. Providence's goalie in that game was Bill Milner, who wore #29.

And not the 1980 semifinal at Boston Garden. Providence's goalie there was Scott Fiske, who wore #31.

The goalie in this picture looks like Mario Proulx, who wore #30, so this is most likely the ECAC final from the 1980-81 season. Tredway's linemates at that time were Roy Kerling (20) and Bill Cole (6), so that's also consistent.

You, Sir, are correct! 1981 ECAC Final, in the Gahden.

At the time a rare finals loss. They have become more common.
