Cornell will probably lose, but you can't fault the effort so far.

Tweeted at @ESPNFANSUPPORT; we'll see what happens, if anything. Also tried the "Chat" option on ESPN's customer service page but it's been several minutes and hasn't connected me to an agent.

This was the service that's much, much better than ILDN, right?

“Unable to play this video at the moment.”

I get that, and occasionally, if I refresh, it brings me to the intermission between the first and second period, with the "playing indicator" not at the far right. If I move it to the far right, to try to get back to "live", I lose everything.

Cornell takes a 2-1 lead into the second intermission. We've apparently missed two Cornell PP goals, which is awesome, but hey, how about this great ESPN+ service?

On the plus side, after waiting 32 minutes on hold, I finally got through to a live person who put me on another brief hold, then returned and told me ESPN+ was down. (!!) We should wait until they fix the problem, and/or maybe call them back to see how they're doing. rolleyes Damn good thing this is our free "trial" week.

Sitting here at the game I thought they weren't updating sog until the end of each period... And then I saw the total update when we got our first** shot of the third period with 6:xx remaining.

How do you put up 29 in the first 2 periods and then go 13+ minutes before you get another one? Don't think I've seen that before.

You're right if standings depend only on winning percentage. According to CHN, we're in 4th, behind Q, D & Y (with D & Y being tied for 2nd). But the really good news is that their higher standing is largely due to having played more in-league games. All 4 teams at the top have only 2 losses in the conference. So winning our way into first is quite doable.

We've played 6 league games, Q has played 8, and Y & D have played 7. Clarkson, which currently sits tied for 9th in the league, also has only 2 league losses but has played only 4 league games. Everyone else has more in-league losses.

The atmosphere, as is often the case at Lynah East, was basically that of a Cornell home game. In my estimation, approximately 75 percent of the fans were cheering for Cornell. When the Harvard pep band would start a cheer or a chant, no one else would join in, while at other times it sounded like the entire rink was chanting "Let's Go Red." The Cornell fan base deserves a lot of credit for coming out in such big numbers for this game every year.

A slap at RPI. At least if one were discussing video quality. Maybe it's so freakin' cold at the rink, electrons move faster, eliciting more resolution and more vibrant color. Not that inside of the RPI blimp hangar has a lot of hues to latch onto.

Huh?

From what I remember of RPI's streams, they were the gold standard of the ECAC.

Have they not kept pace or am I missing something obvious? My sarcasm detector has taken a pounding the last few years.

Agree, but the video clips are somewhat deceiving as the goals were scored on the "Cornell fans end of the ice". The other end was much more Harvard oriented.

And I'm still pissed that they took my Snickers.

When I was tossing them. On my way in I showed everything in my "newspaper bag", including the bags of Snickers.

No problem until I was about half way through tossing in the Cornell dominated sections. An employee came up and said I couldn't bring in outside "food" and he had to take my bag of Snickers. After a brief discussion I threw my opened bag in the air, scattering the Snickers, and walked away.

At that point I was ready for him to come and tell me I had to leave, but nothing happened.

Yes, very well-played.

Thanks for elaborating. Let's hope it was just one over-enthusiastic and misguided employee.

It's not like you were tossing fish.

It's not like you were tossing fish.

Yet the Lynah ushers allow fish and don't allow Snickers.
