Chicago Tribune reports on a study has been released advocating for University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to add a varsity ice hockey team, bumping up the number of Big Ten schools with hockey. The paper's sarcastic sports columnist is not so enthusiastic.

The University of Illinois said results of a feasibility study launched last year indicate “growing excitement among the statewide hockey community to bring Div. 1 hockey to Champaign.’’ Seriously? Excitement? Quick, someone show the hockey community what Illinois has done with Div. 1 basketball and football programs.
