Beginning this year's ECAC regular season play at the same place where last season's ended. Dartmouth has 11 freshmen on their roster to start out the year. Regardless, they still managed to look somewhat decent last weekend to get a win against a Michigan team that's been having problems in its own end.

Just a reminder that this game (as well as the next two) should be available on ESPN3.

Kubiak out of the lineup. I wondered whether he was pushing it to play last week, as he didn't seem 100%. This early, I'd rather have them take the time to heal properly than risk aggravating what ails them.

Bauld joins Mallot for a 2/3 freshmen line (centered by Weidner), and Murphy also makes his debut, playing with Fiegl and Buckles.

Mike on the pre-game: Tschantz is out "1-2 months."

Still way more than their crowd in the early 90s. You could follow individual conversations in those days.

I guess half the game being special teams is just the state of college hockey.

Not exactly the most exciting result, but I thought we rebounded nicely from a bad first ten minutes.

I thought we looked slow and sloppy the first period. lucky to come out tied.. did much better the 2nd with 3-4 really good chances probably should have been ahead..

took the lead on the short hander and then got sloppy and chased plays again and allowed the goal to tie.

all in all tie wasnt bad , we had the better of the quality chances but Dartmouth probably controlled the puck a bit more.

I'm fine with most road ties; I'm mighty fine with road ties at Dartmouth, where we usually play horribly. Nice to get that out of the way this year, and nice to start the league slate against a couple of Ivies.

It was an entertaining 1-1 game. Both teams had lots of good chances, the goalies were solid, and good end-to-end action. Dartmouth looked like a pretty decent team to me, so I can live with the tie. I also agree with the comment above that we had the better chances, while Dartmouth had a bit of an edge in controlling the play.

Two games into the season, lets hope a slow start in games does not becomes a trend. If they can't come out with intensity tonight against Harvard, then we know there is an issue. Being from New Hampshire, it's unusual that I've had the opportunity to attend both games so far and again tonight along with next weekend. One observation is that the home teams have had pathetic crowds and fan support leaving the atmosphere lacking. Shouldn't be the case tonight. I hope with the difficult road schedule starting the season, lynah faithful won't be discouraged and show up to home games. It's one of our big advantages and certainly recruiting tool.

Mike should pay me to go to Hanover. I'm 10-1 at Thompson. Which is just another way of saying I used to go up there in the 80s and 90s.
