If the showcasing of the defenseman’s “speed” the last two NHL seasons has been any indication, his future in the league is bleak and Europe may very well be his final landing spot.

Bobby Robbins, who toiled 9 years in the minors, played his first NHL game for the B's last night. Nice story. Craig Cunningham, another rookie, played in just his 3rd NHL game. I would think that the B's are going to give some of these young guys, including Ferlin, a few games each to see who has NHL mojo.

During the broadcast his name was mentioned. They said he was being used in some sort of cap limit trick built around injuries of senior players. I don;t know the details, but it sounds like he'll be moved back and forth between Boston and Providence with no chance of playing time in the bigs.

Does anyone know what is up with Colin Greening? He was not in the line-up for last night's game v. the Predators (at least according to the box score on nhl.com).

At the end of the pre-season, there was a lot of chatter on Senators fan sites and blogs about Greening being placed on waivers or traded, but nothing of that nature has happened yet. Hopefully Colin will at least get a chance in the lineup in the next game or two.

I thought Riley Nash looked pretty good for the Hurricanes against the Rangers last night. He seemed to be getting a lot of minutes late in the tied third period and into overtime, and won 71% of his faceoffs (though just about everyone on Carolina was dominating the Rangers on faceoffs).
It is weird rooting for Dominic Moore, Lee Stempniak, Tanner Glass and Marty St. Louis, and against Riley Nash.

Man, it was depressing knowing that Moulson would move at last year's deadline and that my Penguins needed a winger. And they go get Lee Goddamned Stempniak.
As much as it pains me to say it, I liked Glass's effort on the 4th line.

With Colin Greening not suiting up for most of Ottawa's games and the Canes struggling at the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if Ron Francis tried to make a trade for Colin to unite him with Riley Nash. Francis traded for Nash's draft rights after Riley's junior year (Colin's senior year) after watching several Cornell games, as Francis's daughter was a Cornell student at the time.

Something's gotta give in Ottawa..........a consistent healthy scratch making $2.65mm isn't sustainable. They have to at least showcase Greening if they're going to try and trade him.

Just saw that Columbus is calling up Sean Collins.
And apparently in the line-up tonight wearing #37. CBJ losing 2-0 to the Maple Leafs, end of the 2nd period.
He had fourth line TOI (13 shifts for 9:30) and was a -1 with 1 shot in a 4-1 loss.

Fortunately Scrivens didn't start for Edmonton last night against the Flyers. That way I didn't have to root against him.
