Coaching staff caught off guard with no idea on this one.

Cornell's Clint Lewis Returns to Junior Hockey
By Chris Dilks

The junior hockey season is nearly underway with players reporting to team training camps, and team rosters are starting to trickle out.

The Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL released their training camp roster today, and included on the roster is Cornell defenseman Clint Lewis, confirming that he will play junior hockey this year, rather than returning to the Big Red for his sophomore season.

Lewis came to Cornell out of the NTDP program. He appeared in all 32 games for the Big Red last season, registering one goal and one assist on the season. Over the summer, Lewis participated in the USA Hockey World Juniors Evaluation camp as a candidate to play for the US World Junior team later this year.

This doesn't rule out a return?

Seemed to bge a pretty good talent. It might not hurt for him to get another year of junior under him.

I live near Sioux Falls. Going to a game and calling him a traitor wouldn't be productive, would it.

I'm quite happy with our D as it stands.

I second that, our D is just fine. If I remember right, he was a bit timid in the corners!

You're ok with having exactly the number of defensemen needed because Lewis screwed the team over? Poor Stoick had to go back to D last weekend with Anderson's suspension. Not really a comfortable situation.

Agree. Lewis was GOOD. I dislike losing somebody who played at a high level for us. Regardless of depth, that loss hurts.
