Lenny got robbed for USCHO POTW awards again. Not to hate, but come on. He gives his best performance of the season by many accounts, breaks the Dryden record, and has a GAA of .5 for two weeks in a row with 2 shutouts and he's the runner up? That's bullshit man.

You're right, this is the worst thing that could happen...get cheated out of this very meaningful award. Let's go set fire to the USCHO office complex.
*cough*
As I said in the Yale thread,
[Q]Ferris St. goaltender Mike Brown stopped 75 of 75 shots this weekend vs. UNO. The records may give Lenny some sentimental appreciation, but with 2 shutouts and a lot more pucks, I could see it going to Brown. [/Q]
Seriously, the wins are good enough for me. I don't need any ECAC weekly award or USCHO made-up award to make me feel fuzzy inside. And actually, as time passes, and the stats sink in...the more I think that we'll see Lenny's name listed in a news release from a certain Memorial Award Committee soon.

Before the awards, in a post that Rich's above reply is in response to, I said the same thing...but after learning that Brown stopped 75 pucks in 2 consecutive shutouts, I have to say that he earned it. At least Dave got a mention this week. The good thing is that Dave is consistently good, and I'll take that over the occasional great week (not that Brown isn't also having an oustanding year). I'll take him being considered goalie of the year as opposed to the defensive player of the week. He's got a legititmate shot at the Hobey, and I'll take that.

Oh, I dunno... Dave's overall GAA is 1.16, but his GAA for the month of February was 1.25 according to the article... which means that it was not a good month for him.

Yeah, I didn't realize that Brown got two shutouts. Thanks, Al. Seneca says hi by the way (remember the game at Princeton '98? where we lost 3-2) seneca was the one introducing the 'dirty bird' to the princeton fans...it was his first hockey game. Al's wife told us the cornell hockey fanaticism never dies down, which is pretty apparent when you meet Al in person.
