Any theories on why the Ivies are suddenly dominant in the ECAC?

Does it mean the non-Ivies are starting to lose recruiting battles to the new-kid-on-the-block DI schools in the MAAC and CHA?

Hopefully it is a short-lived trend, and programs like Clarkson and Vermont return to prominence soon.

It's probably a pure historical accident, but it's pretty funny that the moment SLU had an all-scholarship squad they tanked. ;-)

I guess it's theoretically possible that the Ivies were insulated from the MAAC and CHA inroads on recruiting because of the higher value of the degree. But it's much more likely that it's just luck: RPI graduated a huge class, UVM is still limping from their elephant walk, and Clarkson played coaches roulette, all at the same time, and none of those things has anything to do with competitiveness of those programs.

They'll all be back annoyingly soon.
