is anyone else slightly worried about the Brown team we're gonna face on Saturday night? I wonder which team will show up--the team that has beaten Uml, st. cloud, harvard :-O...or the team that has been beaten by cornell :-D, killed by unh, and lost to colgate.

seems like they can beat most of the lower strength teams-vermont, princeton, slu...and a lot of very strong teams...but have problems with those teams in the middle...i wonder if they have gained enough confidence from st cloud & uml to be able to give cornell a fit now.....

I thnik that the message Brown has been sending as of late is: "Don't take us for granted." Tho a lot of attention is being given to the Harvard game I think/hope that coach knows better and will be making sure that the boys don't focus entirely on fri night. he knows that the RS title is a possibility with smart play. i think that he wants it badly enough that he isn't overlooking any game (i hope). :-|

Remember that Brown has switched goaltenders. Brown is a much better team with Yann Danis in goal.

Brian Ecklund: 3-5-0
Yann Danis: 5-4-2

Losses
It should also be noted that of Danis' 4 losses; two were OT losses to Maine and PC while the another was the 11-3 loss to UNH. In the blowout, Yann kept Brown close for two periods (it was tied 2-2 at the beginning of the 3rd) before giving up 4 goals in 9 minutes. He was then pulled in favor of Ecklund who promptly gave up 5 more goals in 11 minutes.

Wins
Ecklund has a single quality win in the first game of season against then ranked Harvard. He was unable to repeat this performance a month later when then unranked Harvard came back for game 2. Conversely, Danis got his wins against Wisconsin, St Cloud, and UMass-Lowell.

So yes, I hope that the Big Red don't look past Brown. However, I am confident they won't for 2 reasons. a) The Wisconsin, SCSU and UML games should give anyone a wakeup call that Brown is not a pushover. b) The Brown game is on Saturday; if things go well on Friday, the team will be rolling. If things don't go well on Friday, they will be out for blood.

Having said all of that, other than Saturday, I hope Brown can make a run down the stretch and win a lot of games. Why? Everybody loves an underdog, it helps our PWR if they become a TUC, and I love to see ECAC schools stick it to WCHA, CCHA and HEA elitists. :)

Well, SCSU and UML didn't seem to get the message :-D

Cornell managed not to suffer a letdown against SLU after the Clarkson game; in general, I think we're better off having the "big" game first, since the worries of looking past the "little" game are more substantial than the present letdown concerns
