"Yay-el's" sounds better than "Yale is" because the latter is too clearly enunciated. You can get away with it with "Prince-ton's in New Jersey" because the "ton" is secondary to the "Prince," but the "is" is equal strength with the "Yale," so you wind up tripping over the "is."RichH

Drives me nuts when I hear the students past 2005 or so do the "FRUS-TRAAAAY-TED" cheer wrong. They've tried to jam the last 2 syllables together so it comes out "FRUUUUSSS-trated". It's the TRAAAAAAAY emphasis that is supposed to really twist the knife.

From what I saw, Cornell gave up nothing 5x5, but the PK had to get bailed out by a Yale goal being overturned by an offsides that occurred ten seconds before the shot and had little to do with the puck going in. Still, a pretty dominant effort on the road and a promising win (though no signs of the PK improving).

I attempted to take a couple of screen captures of the zone entry that was ruled offside. I'm guessing the ref and linesman that reviewed the play could actually see the puck. We can't, but we can kind of infer where it is, and based on that the entry definitely felt offside.

About time for Cornell to go into juggernaut mode. Did I hear the announcers say "first shutout of the year" for Cornell? I knew we'd blown some shutouts late in the third but it is our third.
Clarkson loses to Harvard 5-2 so now we're ahead in the ECAC, 15-2-2 vs. Clarkson's 15-4, sole possession of first. Let's please not choke at Brown as Colgate did tonight, 3-1, such as a choke is when you've got one more when than Brown.

Surprised no one has pointed this out yet, but with tonight's results Cornell has locked up first or second for the regular season.
Cornell - 32 points
Clarkson - 30 points
Harvard - 25 points
Quinnipiac - 24 points
Three games remaining.

Which one of the statisticians here has the best record for predicting upcoming games, versus analyzing past games? I'm retired and hate to waste precious time perusing column upon column of numerical historical examples leading to false conclusions. Honest. Who has the most successful record as a predictor of future games? I can read CHN for hockey history.

According to an email from Schafer, it was Bauld who first suggested Yale was offside on the reviewed no-goal:
"Senior forward Noah Bauld was the first guy to say Yale had gone offsides. We checked with the guys upstairs, and Yale was clearly offsides. It was a good call by those guys looking at it, and it was a turning point, as we came right back and upped the score to 3-0 at 13:11 of the opening period."
