Another week, another road game. Now what are all the monikers that I've seen for Meehan? Mausoleum, dump, ice box...

Rut roh. The Brown announcers on ILDN look about 16 years old. Could it be them?

I find it silly that the broadcast can't even show what exactly happened. And haven't we seen a possible goal overturned before at this rink?

Brown is pretty bad. Our PP still can't set up a play. We scored some PP goals vs. Harvard, but they came in transition and/or from great individual efforts rather than being the result an offensive set. Tonight, we went 0-for-many on the PP, the worst of which was a minute-plus of a 5-on-3 in which we could only muster two Buckles slappers from the top of the circle.

The big problem that I see is simply guys passing up opportunities that don't look perfect. I lost count of how many times I'd see a guy pass up an opportunity to drive the net, take a close-range sharp-angle shot, or just put the puck on net for a deflection. The most skilled thing I saw throughout the game were attempts at cross-ice tic-tac-toe plays for one-timers (none of which resulted in a goal).
The Brown goaltender was actually good in this game but the team in front of him wasn't when it came to shutting off good shooting lanes. That being said, there were instances where Cornell got caught in a Brown transition/forecheck either from a poor pinch or lackadaisical puck-handling and passing. There's still quite a bit of room for improvement when it comes to puck decisions.

they over turned that goal on far less contact than at least 2 goals that went against us last year where Gillum got mugged. There might have been a smidgen of contact but when i slowed it down it looked like the puck was already past the goalie

That's not quite as bad as it sounds, as some of them were pretty short.

Yeah, it was pretty bad. 8 PP for 13:13 eapsed time. That's over 1:30 each. The early PP were only reaonable when we had 5/3. Most fans sitting near me were concerned. However they seemed to improve and generated a lot of chances on the later PPs, just didn't get goals, which of course is the only way to win. Overall I'm much more confidant with our PP play this year. We move the puck much better, we're looking for back-door plays, as well as setting up a player in the slot. No longer is it blast a slapshot and hope for something up front.
Regarding our overall play, to me the biggest thing is improving our passes on the breakout. We have good strategy, but our passes aren't crisp enough. Improve that and I think you'll see some great offensive chances.
