Recalls the joke about who's who in the kitchen at the parish social: "I'm the fish friar and that's the chip monk." It was funny if you heard it in middle school.

Courtesy of jtwcornell91, here is a recap of the last time Cornell played Providence in a holiday tournament. John's recaps from the SIT were so funny, I remember them 19 years later.
Providence is the first D1 men's team to reach Christmas without having lost a single game. The last time that happened was in the fall of 1995, when Colorado College did it. After Christmas, Cornell faced Colorado College in the first round of the Denver Cup. CC won 11-0. Denver handed CC its first lost the next night in the tournament final.

Per KRACH, Cornell now has the 5th best schedule strength in the country.
1. St. Cloud
2. Quinnipiac
3. Yale
4. Harvard
5. Cornell
6. Dartmouth
God bless the EZAC.

So that's how the old WCHA did it.
I expect the algorithm to be corrected during the off-season.

Seriously. There was a heap of challenging opportunities by PC. This game could've easily been a 3-1 loss at least.
Gilliam gets 1st star. Fiegl, Freschi, and Bliss were also standouts, in my mind.

The last season we had one or fewer losses after 12 games was 1973.
The complete set of seasons:
1911*
1967
1968
1969
1970
1973
2016
* Shout out to 1911, when we finished 11-0-0, and thus would have had 1 or fewer losses no matter the result of a 12th game.

Not going to argue that. When time is waning, my ears perk up every time he touches the puck. OT at Colgate, buzzer-beater in the 2nd vs. SLU. I think it was AA who made a push to the net near the end of the 1st tonight, and you better believe as soon as Jason said his name in OT tonight, my eyes snapped to the screen. Exciting in the mold of Greening & Ferlin.

Yeah, that was the year we started to complain about the younger fans not showing up on time or knowing the old cheers, remember?

Pretty heady company, that. Ned can rest in peace and joy. The legacy continues. Forty-five years and counting. And the fact that it was Cornell that stopped PC's streak puts the 2016 team in a deserved place among the other legendary teams on this auspicious list. But there's more work ahead, starting tomorrow!

The win puts Cornell at #2 in the KRACH, trailing the team they trail in the ECAC standings. #6 in the PWR, just ahead of Providence, for what it's worth (we're almost to the point where it's useful to look at it).
Does anybody know how CHN and USCHO differ in their calculation of KRACH? We're 3 at USCHO. It looks like the difference might be how SOS is calculated, but then I don't know how they differ in their calc of that. Since, I believe CHN was first to start with KRACH, I tend to go with them.

Maybe USCHO is still using the fictitious game. CHN's FAQ on this says they no longer use it.
