Same here, no audio. There was some for about 10 seconds a few minutes ago, so hopefully they're working on the problem.

I have audio too - just in time to here that it was Michael Kennedy who tied the game at the end of regulation yesterday (wrong) and that this mysterious "Colon" Greening is still on the team.

Yikes. Yale seems to have our number this season.
If I read the YATC correctly, we are in and at worst in the #3 seed band.
Question: In the third period, would it be in our best interest for next weekend to let Garman play the rest of the game?
This would give Scrivens some extra rest after the 2 OT game. Also having a new goalie in might make us focus on the fundamentals and little things a bit more.
Just a thought.

It's a shame the game has evolved this way. We've been doing a very good job winning pucks, our passing is good, but getting pucks and good action on Yale's doormat has been hard to come by.

really doesnt seem like a bad effort other than the no scoring. the yale goals were more a function of some mistakes made were Yales speed can come into effect. we are generating enough chances we just cant bury them. it would much worse if we were allowing tons of odd man rushes, its clear though that our D is a step slow and if we are chasing we are in trouble.

Honestly, the one thing that I can see bringing us back in this game is a 5-minute major. With how frankly undisciplined Yale is regarding penalties, it's not out of the realm of possibility.
And, yes, I think this is one of the hardest-fought, bare-knuckle games I've seen in a long time; it's a shame we're, at this point, on the short end of it.

I don't think Garman could handle a game like this right now. The team chemistry is tight and the Big Red is hustling. Yale is just a very skilled team. The Big Red should all stay on the ice together. This game isn't over yet. Hopefully, Mike is talking about the next goal in the locker room, not the next three, so that the guys don't come out squeezing the graphite out of their sticks.

I completely agree. It's just one of those days. I think the team is playing as well as it can but can we just bury a couple of chances? Frustrating!!!

I'm relying on audio tonight (and tuned in late due trying to find audio), so it is harder to sense how they are playing and if there are residual effects.
As long as Scrivens isn't struggling, then yes, it does make sense to keep him in net.
One goal at a time, and it would be nice if Cornell could win this period and come away with a few goals.

re: scrivens that's certainly true. A couple of these goals have not been even remotely his fault but I haven't gotten the feeling that he is making any saves that he really doesn't 'deserve' to. Goalies that really boost a team sometimes make a save they have no business making. Scrivens has let a couple dribbles through tonight and hasn't added anything special.

Gotta love Schafer pulling the goalie this early to try and get back in to the game. Jason keeps saying on WHCU that he thinks we'll end up as a 3 seed in Manchester if we lose this game. Not sure if he actually knows what he is talking about through.

I guess Schafer is determined to have us put at least 1 goal on the board.
Scrivens back on the bench again.

It's all over but for the formalities. Yale has our number, but we're not a bad team. We competed well tonight--not especially well--but enough to be proud of. Being league runners-up is nothing to be ashamed of. For this year's Cornell team, I don't think we could have expected a championship. We are still capable of making noise in the tourney.

All I can say is that I'm very glad Richards is a senior. The only practical difference between this year's Yale team and next year's Yale team (barring departures) will be in goal.

For their efforts, Yale earns the top #2 seed and will play the top #3 seed UVm Friday night in Bridgeport thanks to a #3 band clogged with ECAC and host teams.

Absolutely - don't see much jump in the team tonight. But I'm not sure that's why we're getting destroyed. I think Yale just has our number this year.
Because Yales skill advantage on offense is just that much greater. Those backdoorgoals were all sweet tick tack toes... and they really moved the puck well even when they didn't finish.
Another example where if we aren't razor-sharp on defense we aren't going to beat solid teams.
Yes, I'm beating the *GET ME SOME BLEEPIN SKILL PLAYERS" drum once again.

It's over.
All of their goals tonight (except for the ENG) looked pretty much the same. We made the same mistake again and again and again.

Could it be that we get a better NCAA pairing in round 1 having lost this game given how many ECAC and host teams are in the mix?

Staring at the end of the B2 cast looking at the stats.
We outshot them, won 2x more facoffs, had more PP minutes and more hits.
Yale scored on a lot fewer shots. Obviously they set themselves up to bury the puck, and we........ well see above...we don't have their offensive skill obviously.
We win one game in the tourney if we are extremely lucky and learb how to execute a PP before then.

LGR!
Scrivens was okay in net. Yale pulled him out of position with excellent passing on several occaisions. They moved the puck really well when they got in close and shot well. Cornell looked fatigued during the third period.

Sounds like it. It'd be nice to get a title, however, be it Ivy or ECAC. We have been on a drought as of late.

SLUts did much better than us against Yale. And boy would everything have been different had they beaten Yale yesterday.

I think the team should be very proud of their efforts in Albany. They played with a lot of courage and the younger guys now have experience in a conference championship game. It looks like they will be sent to either Minnesota or Michigan for the tournament as a #3 seed. The good thing about that is they won't have to face BU in the regionals. On a good night, they might just beat a team like Denver or Michigan. Let's hope for the best. Congratulations Big Red!

Cornell will be a 3(11) and Yale will be a 2(5). Cornell probably does one better than it would have because Yale can't play Princeton (12).
It'll presumably be @5(YU) vs. 9 (vermont), 6 (NU) vs. 12(PU), 7(UMD) vs. 11(CU) and 8(NoDak) @ 10 (UNH).
NoDak gets a lower seed but has to go to their regional. PU and CU get slightly better draws and YU gets boxed out into the worst spot. PU/NU could be a fabulous game.
It'll also likely be:
BU(1) @ NE
ND(2) @ MW
UM(3) @ W
DU(4) @ E
That means CU/UMD in the west. PU/NU in the midwest.

scrivens is having a poor game
I don't think you can blame Scrivens for the loss. He played well; the Yale offense just jumped on every slight opportunity that they had. He stopped a clean breakaway early in the game.

Gotta agree with Tom. While he was not the reason for the loss, Scrivens did not play especially well. He looked fatigued and had difficulty securing the puck. That being said, the biggest difference between these teams is that Yale has more finishing ability and their offensive zone passing is better.

I was talking to Jacob Drewiske's (St. Lawrence #13) father before the games Saturday. He lives in Wisconsin and follows the WCHA very closely. He thought that any of the 4 teams this weekend would beat Minnesota or Wisconsin this year. Obviously Yale has our number this year, but maybe that is because they are a very good team.
Incidentally, Mr. Drewiske's other son played for Wisconsin and was rooming with Moulson in Manchester until the son recently got called up by the Kings. Mr. Drewiske said the best game he has ever seen was the 3OT game against Wisconsin.
