the standings when we get home next sat could really be interesting. teams will have caught up with all the games in hand. IF Cornell were to win the next 2 we could be sitting at home next week a game out of 2nd place. winning 2 of 3 gets us some room on home ice if nothing else.
funny what 3 goals does for a team we would be indefeated now. 2.5 over the last 4 has us with 3 wins. just that much could get us to first round bye.
STL 18
harvard 18
clarkson 18
cornell 16
colgate 16
yale 15
rpi 14

Yeah, but everybody hates indefeated teams.
Absolutely agree with your message. The league is wide open, there's a lot of hockey to be played, and a bye is attainable for a team that can string together some wins. Hopefully last week didn't portend a trend I hate: strong Friday, and a let-down Saturday.
Last year's Loss that Sticks in My Craw (TM) was BU. This year so far, it's Princeton. That's still the only league game they've won.

In Topher's and Mike's and the players' comments both before and after Harvard there was much emphasis placed on just this. The team is aware this has been their MO and they appear to ant to break it. Here's hoping.

And, unfortunately, the pattern continued. To put some numbers on it, we're 5–2–2 on the front end and 2-7 on the back end of 2-game sets.
Yet, if we were to, say, sweep next weekend, we'll likely be in 4th or 5th, at the worst 6th. It's a tight race.
I think I'm cheering for Quinnipiac, Harvard, and SLU to do what's necessary (except against us) to pull away from the pack, so as to depress the number of points needed for 4th. With the proper results, I could see us coming out on top of a pileup at 23 or 24 points for 4th. (We already hold the tiebreak vs Clarkson, for example.) Next weekend is now absolutely crucial, and there can't be any more losses to teams we should beat.
