I noticed in the most recent issue of the Cornell Alumni Magazine that my classmate, Steve Napier '78, died in November at the age of 57. He was the starting goalie for several years in the late '70s. Had anything been posted on eLynah about his death? If so, I'd missed it and was saddened and surprised to see that he died at such a relatively young age. The most famous game Napier played in was Cornell's 10-9 double-OT loss to UNH in the 1977 ECAC semifinals at the old Boston Garden. Both goalies, Napier and UNH's All-American Dave Magnarelli, played the entire game.

Very sorry to hear about Steve. Those unfamiliar with Steve may remember his younger brother Mark, who went directly to the WHA at age 18 and won the rookie of the year. Mark went on to have a very good career with Montreal and several other teams thereafter.dbilmes
