These new sweaters were one nighters for the Freakout. Weird design in that IF someone feels the need to drop bucks for a jersey auction the price should increase when the shirt has the players name on it.

Even more freaky is Kasdorf's record of late. He had two shutouts this weekend. RIP has risen from near death winning four straight league games and playing a convincing game with a 1-1 tie against QPac on January 11 on the deer ticks' home ice.

They were indeed quite weird, but I for one was happy to see the Puckman being displayed prominently after it being downplayed in recent years, e.g., being removed from the uniforms and center ice.

As to the use of "Let's Go Red!", it has been used more or less as a mantra by RPI fans at least since I was there, and Cornell has no copyright on that.

I will refrain from posting a certain quote from the Cornell alumni magazine which I have posted here several times before about the use of the color red.

The picture that TimV posted I assume was after Mark Miller (#26) scored a goal which was almost "Orrian" in nature, shooting while flying through the air after being tripped by a Dartmouth player. The RPI-TV broadcast isn't in the archives yet. The play starts at about 14 seconds in this soundless video which really doesn't do it justice.

I was at the rink and have a question concerning the reffing. This likely would have drawn a penalty if there was no score. Shouldn't there have been a penalty called anyway?

He was tripped before he scored and with the new rules if the ref had called a penalty there would be a power play in spite of the goal.

The rule is indeed that penalties should still be called even if a goal is scored. It looked like a trip to me. Kurt Stutt on WRPI said after the replays that he wasn't sure it was a trip. All I can say is that it isn't news if the refs get something wrong.

And that was exactly what happened to us, Wilcox, at Clarkson. Well, slashing not tripping, but goal scored and he gets a penalty.
